Word(less) Wednesday, How's the weather!

The weather here in Lewisburg, West Virginia is not as bad as it was this time last year.  The temperature is around 25 degrees and only about five inches of snow compared to last years snow fall of over 25 inches.  I was reading Andrea Swiedle and Steve Loynd's post today and was amazed at the snow fall Connecticut and New Hampshire has....New England really got some snow as well as many other areas on the East Coast.

My two younger sisters lives in Charlotte, NC and their work was closed because of the inclement weather.  And, my brother in Tennesee was snowed in as well.......kind of what we had last year.  It is still snowing here,  and will continue with light snow throughout the day.  But I am so glad it is now like last years snow fall....check out the photos below for the 2010 and 2011 snowfall.

How is the weather?  I live in CT and we are getting a pretty good snow storm today.  One of the biggest in many years.  Haven't measured but it was knee deep at noon time and I'm over 6 feet tall.

We've been fortunate here in the Detroit area. Only about 5 inches from the storm yesterday. Really nothing to write home about this winter... maybe 10 inches total, and everything before Christmas melted.

I remember the snow y'all had in WV last year. I have a lot of family from the Elkins area, and they all posted tons of pictures.

We could use some more of those big red things pushing our snow around!  And now the breeze and freeze with unbelievable temperatures -- for Hendersonville NC anyway.  Presently I could think I'll never complain about the heat again!

My daughter lives in the Charles Town area of WVA and indeed that was an extemely impressive snow event.

Jon, I see CT is getting hit hard...stay warm and safe.

Jason, Elkins is the coldest place in WV.

Sue, the snow plows are great.

Anita, so far we definitely are.

Conrad, I retired from the US Dept of Commerce/NOAA a, after 32 years of service.... and the term "unessential government employee" is like you are not important so you can stay home :-)..... I always found gov't workers not dedicated, or had families, would stay home.  It is those dedidcated ones that will show up....YEAH there are still a few around.

More snow here in Murphy, NC over the last month than all the 13 years we've lived here. We loved our white Christmas, but this last 12 inches over the weekend is too much too soon. Not easy showing property. Glad you're getting a little break so far Rebecca!

Rebecca, I must admit I am biased, the whole country looks like Colorado, what a crazy winter.

Two inches fell in my area, and that was just right - pretty to look at, but not back-breaking.  'Hoping we never have another snowmageddon, like we did last year!

Brian, ah the warm sun...must be nice!

Lee and Carol,  just hope it isn't icy tomorrow as we need to go on an appointment.

Nick, indeed a crazy winter. And look at Australia with all the flooding.

Margaret, yes two-5 inches is just enough to be pretty and driving is not too bad.

Rebecca,

Those snow shots look great, I remember when I lived in Minnesota with my parents, the wonderful parts of snowy weather, especially, the closing of schools.  A

Hi Rebecca--Love your positive attitude.  Makes me want to grab the cross country skis & head for the woods.

2011 looks much more reasonable, but 2010 looks like more fun! For about an hour, anyway! J

Ron and Alexandra, you know when I was in school (some time ago), we never ever got a snow day.  We went no matter what the weather was and only when the school bus didn't run is the only time we stayed home.

Mary, I should take up cross country skiing.

Russel, I agree.
