One thing I love about real estate is the friends we make

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

Over the past 4 years since I started blogging, the business has really changed for me. When I first started I would take any buyer or seller that walked in the door, I needed the business. But, since I started blogging, the people that I meet have hired me because they felt they know and like me.

Making friends through real estate

Now, that doesn’t mean I turn others away, it just gives me the opportunity to find an agent on my team that they get along with and their personalities fit. Each person is different and people to deserve to work with people they like.

What I love about my real estate career is now, instead of having past clients, I have more friends. I like having friends rather than clients. So, when I take a referral here in the rain, I like to say thanks for sending me a new friend, because that is truly how I feel.

What if there was a way you could search the  MLS for FREE just like Realtors

Now you can access the MLS using similar tools as Realtors. You are in control of what you want to search for, and you can search the MLS at your leisure. The information you submit in the form below can also be used to put you on an automated system where you'll be emailed all homes that meet your search criteria. You'll get internet access to a website that includes pictures, prices, and addresses to real estate that's listed in the MLS!

Todd~ you are so right. My Realtors friends are my best buds. We have a lot to share, the joy, the frustration and stress. They understand. Anyone else would think I'm boasting or crying. This also, as you said, gives us a chance to get to know them and their personalities and who best to give a referral to.

Todd,

So true, we've actually been able to make many friends in this business through the years.  I think it helps a lot when you approach it with the mindset to do what is best for the customer (aka - new friend to be!)

All the best, Michelle

You're growing very wise, my friend!

Now we'll start working on the idea of determining if the clients are worthy of your services!

It's not arrogance, simply self respect.

True for me as well, I recently looked around the room at a party of all good friends, and realized they were almost all clients or refers now in some capacity. But the friendships that have formed are just as rewarding if not more so.

Todd - It's easy to make good friends with good people. The challenge is to turn challenging situations into positive experiences. Flipping the obstinant client into a friend, or a client of value, is the mark of a great agent

AMEN, Todd!  This is so true--my hubby is in the hospital and we had a conversation that yesterday we heard from more of my AR friends than our own family!  Of course there's many more AR folks but, what a wonderful support group.  I heart ActiveRain!!
