Realtors Unite...My Top 10 Ways!

By
Real Estate Agent with Online Real Estate Agent Training

For whatever reason, it seems as though many consumers think of a real estate professional as just one step above a used car salesman...not that there's anything wrong with that profession either.  It's just all about perception.  If you are like me, you are tired of reading and hearing about the "big, bad real estate agent" who took advantage of a poor innocent client.  For whatever reason they feel that we are only in it for the commission.  But the truth is that most of us are excellent agents, however the consumer often comes to us with the perception that we are to be carefully watched and questioned.  I am of the opinion that we, as agents need to do a better job of educating the consumer so that we can change that perception around.

So as we go into this new year can we all agree to be better professionals and try to change that perception.

Can we agree to...

  • Call/email/text our clients back in a timely fashion
  • Call/email/text your colleagues back in a timely fashion
  • Do what you say you are going to do
  • Include photos in all of our listings
  • Input the information in the listing correctly
  • Give feedback to one another after showing a property
  • Work together in the best interest of our clients
  • Explain to our clients the purpose of a home inspection
  • Be honest in our assessment of a listing price
  • Set the expectations for our buyers and sellers before entering into an agreement with them

I know that there are more things that we can do to help our clients have a better buying and selling experience, but these are just my top 10...in no particular order.  What are some of your suggestions?
