Happy Hollow Park & Zoo. San Jose, CA

By
Real Estate Agent with Chris Alston (Keller Williams Realty, Cupertino California) 01338415

Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, next to Kelley Park in San Jose.  There is alot of new construction here at the zoo.  From a new parking area and bridges opening soon, to new ticket booths, and that is just the outside.  On the inside, there are new play areas, new petting zoos, new play structures, roller coasters for kids, and just about everything!

Happy Hollow

Happy Hollow Park $ Zoo is located at Kelley Parkin San Jose, just off of 280 and 10th Stree, near downtown.  Parking is $10.  Fees are $12.00 for ages 2-69.  70+ is $8.

Kelley Park

One of my favorite exhibits is the Jaguar.  Sometimes it is hard to get her to look at you, and this day I was able to get her to give me a smile.

Jaguar

Gotta love the capybara exhibit.  Today they were just relaxing in the sun.

Capybara

The crazy Squirrel Monkeys seem to always be getting in to no good!

Primate

And of course, Danny the Dragon Ride.

Danny the Dragon

If you are planning on going, dont forget your camera!

:)

Chris, not being argumentative, but I'm not sure that I would agree with you that the Jaguar is smiling at you...well maybe he is...but he's thinking...lunch!!

Great Localism post.

Chris -  I  my kids loved Happy Hollow when they were younger!  It looks like it's had a great facelift since the last time we were there - glad it's even better than ever!

I have never heard of Happy Hollow Park.  Will have to visit next time I am in the neighborhood.  Love that Jaguar.  And I have also never heard of a capybara.  Huh.

Scott - Same here.  Happy Hollow is a small zoo, and everyone seems surprised that it has a big cat!

Glora - Yeah, it's a dragon train that all the kids love.  :)  And I waited for almost 10 minutes to get her to look at me to snap the picture.  It was a good day!  I went with my son on Friday.

my kids used to love to go to Happy Hollow - and when you have 4 boys and 1 girl you need a great place for them to run and play- safely. Looks like they've done some great upgrading.  Stay away from the rides - that'll cost you a fortune when you have 5 kids.

Sussan - The rides are now free...  But I didn't ride them all.  But Danny the Dragon was free so was the rollor coaster.  :)
