Lewisburg WVHistoric Downtown Lewisburg continues its tradition of First Fridays after Five! It takes place on February 4th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Bring your family and friends for an evening in downtown Lewisburg to enjoy music, art, food and fun!

Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity will be presenting its Women Build Project throughout the evening in various locations downtown.  Project representatives will be on hand at downtown businesses, who will present information about the project.  First Friday attendees will be able to “sponsor a square foot” of the house that will be built by an all women construction team in the Spring of 2011.  The names of individuals who sponsor a square foot at the February First Fridays event will be entered into a drawing for prizes.

The Women Build Project also presents a “sign-a-stud” project, to be held from 5pm to 9pm at the Greenbrier County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.  Children of all ages are invited to design a one foot section of a 2x4 board, which will be used in the building process of the Women Build house.

For additional information, please contact Courtney Jesser at 304-667-0332.

Carnegie Hall invites everyone to two new exhibit openings from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm. Old Stone Gallery features the paintings of Olive Jo Burgess McCoy and The Museum Gallery features “Mostly Blossoms”, paintings by Helen Chilton.

The Bakery on Court Street will be selling tasty mini pizzas and pepperoni rolls as a fundraiser for an upcoming Youth Mission Trip to Costa Rica.

Rebecca- sounds like so much fun but have to tell you that when I saw "sign a stud" project my heart skipped a beat!  Oh... but you meant signing a 2x4 board!

Rebecca - Great localism post.  I'm curious about the Irish Bar though.  Is it the hotspot for locals or do people come from all around to see the gigs?

Donne, thank you! It is both, a hotspot for locals and some from the surrounding areas.  Also, a lot of people staying at the Greenbrier or one of the B&Bs
