Snow In Middletown Connecticut ......... Will It Ever STOP!!!

I am a little late in posting this, but I figured I better put up a couple of pictures, before the next storm hits this week.  I don't know about everyone one else in Middletown, Connecticut, but I am beginning to wonder if the "Snow In Middletown Connecticut ........ Will It Ever STOP!!!"

I have lived in New England most of my life, and I have live through some years of a lot of snow.  I was even stuck in the Blizzard of 1978 for three days.  That snow storm dumped 33" where I lived in RI in one shot.  But I have never seen this much snow at one time on the ground.  We have had three huge storms in less than 30 days.  The first was dumped about 12", the next 24", and this last one 15" where I live in Middletown, Connecticut.  This was not it, because in between those three huge storms we got a couple of smaller ones that left 3 to 4 inches each.

The snow is piled up over our heads now, and getting out on the main roads, or just even getting out of our driveways is very dangerous, because you can not see the on coming trafic.  We are suppose to get yet another snow storm this week, which is suppose to include ice with it.  It is probably going to be mid Summer before all this white stuff melts, which leaves me with the question that I started with,l the "Snow In Middletown Connecticut ....... Will It Ever STOP!!!

George, I do believe the worst is yet to come, and it won't be more snow. When it starts to rain and everything is still deep with snow and ice, this surface water is going to create a lot of damage and flooding.

George, I have noticed more town trucks and front end loaders, in the last few days!  They are pushing that snow back, as much as they can.  I get very nervous when I am pulling out of a street and you cannot see the traffic, either way!  You would think that they never plowed snow before!   I cannot believe that there have not been more accidents!  Hoping this one, tomorrow, goes out to sea!

Wait!  Isn't January the coldest month and February, the most snow ever, month?  Yikes!  Do you feel like you are living the life of an Eskimo?

George it IS crazy isn't it ... I was in Middletown last night, rt 66 and almost got into a car accident with someone pulling out into the street - hidden by one of those giant snow banks.  It was a very close call that shook me up quite a bit!  I'm wondering what kind of flooding we'll have when all of this melts.

George, So, I heard that your Mayor has declared that your town is shut down, today?  Yikes!  We have more snow than ice, near Hartford.

Oh my gosh! That is unbelievable and as Ed pointed out there are other factors than just the snow....hope there isn't a fast spring warm up or there will be bad flooding!

We keep watching the news and shake our heads. While you are snowed in...we get a bit of rain and a bit of sun....and wait for the next tropical storm....which is right around the corner.

George, I just came back to see if any of that snow has melted yet....guess not.  My family and friends up in Chicago have been sending me photos of their neighborhoods all snowed in...of course I make a few calls of my own up north rubbing it in!!  Hope you thaw out soon.

George that is my question will it ever end?  The worst is the ice, my son could not drive his car today it was stuck in ice.

I hope we won't have a rainy spring, where is all this water going when the snow melts?

Have a great weekend.

George, I hope some of that snow has melted by now.  I missed this when you first posted it!  We had ice hear the other night which is almost unheard of!  You just have to love that global warming; don't you!

George.. With the rain we are getting today, some of this snow should melt.  Just in time for more snow later this week.   By the way... it doesn't look over your head...yet.  Maybe it will on Thursday.

From the look of things, George, it isn't going to stop until late March. What would really be scary is if we end up having a freak snowstorm on the 1st of April like we did back in 1997.

George, Sitting in Florida, and just finding it hard to believe when I look at these snow photos!  While we were flying down, we stopped in Baltimore,MD. They have nothing!  You can see green grass!  We were so surprised.  Anyways, we are enjoying the sunny days that we have left here in WDW.
