Spring Forward: March 13th

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead ONE HOUR on Sunday, March 13th.Daylight Savings Time

Gaining an hour of daylight is great news, but losing an hour of sleep...well, the jury is still out on that one!  In my house, getting your EIGHT hours of sleep is a BIG deal!

So, why do we "SPRING FORWARD" every year?  Why not maintain STANDARD time all year 'round?  Here are some of the suggested benefits of DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME:

  • Daylight is better used in the evenings when we are awake and participating in activities with family and friends (vs. mornings when we are typically sleeping anyway)
  • Reduced road accidents and injuries (because we can better see where we are going and what's in our way)
  • Less "artificial" light is needed for evening activities because we have natural light

OK, so there are some GOOD reasons for daylight savings time.  I'll get my hour back in the fall!  :-)

Hello Christopher~ I feel the same way.  Maybe we both need to get one of those "i-renew" magnetic bracelets!

Good Morning Melissa~ I could use an extra 24 hours without ringing phones, not new emails and no one standing in my office asking me questions.

Hey Peg~ They don't do it in Arizona either.

Hi Krista~ It does make it much easier to show homes!  So many people are only available in the evenings!

OK Cameron, if I go to bed early I don't lose any sleep, but then I lose an other of my day to get things done!

I am ready for Spring and sunny warm days too, Teral.  It'll be here before we know it!

You are not alone Sue.  I think most of us are anxious for Spring!

Good Morning Pamela~ Guess we just have to take the good with the bad.  I do appreciate having more daylight!

Good for you Roger! I have to have my EIGHT hours, or watch out world!

I believe you are right Charita.  I think the moved it to March from April.  Not 100% sure.  Wanna Google it?

It usually takes me about a week to adjust to the time change, Debbie.  Guess I'm not the only one.

Too true Cindy!

Good thinking Tish!  A gentle reminder is helpful.

Hi Bliz~ All the signs are there...flowers blooming, baseball starting...it's getting closer and closer!
