Bye Bye AOL

To all of my friends who may not have noticed the email notification, I have changed my email to hughkrone@gmail.com.  I have had my old email address for many years and was very hesitant to change it but current events necessitate it. I have had my AOL account since we bought our first PC i think and although they had become very liberal I was very comfortable navigating and I have never been a big fan of change just for the sake of change.

But this week AOL announced they were purchasing the Huffington Post  and hiring Arianna Huffington for  a rediculous amount of money. I simply can not send money every month to any organization that has anything to do with the Huffington post.

Hugh,  One of my best friends has always been a conservative AOL junky.  I called her as soon as I heard this to see if she had the inside story; she did not have a clue.  I'm thinking this is going to hurt AOL more than it is going to help them.

Hugh - and AOL stock continues to decline. I left AOL a long time ago but for technical reasons. Bonus for you, gmail is free.

Gmail is great and it integrates with Android smart phones too.  Change is a good thing.

Hugh...Love IT!!!  We need to take a stand more often and I applaud you for taking the dard line.  I am not one for change either, but there are times when it has to be done!

It's not the smartest move by AOL.  The only side that benefits from this deal is Arianna.

Good move Hugh. AOL and Huffington should be quite the liberal team.

Nich they will try to give you a better price than they will let you keep your email. They are hoping you will come back. They asked me why I was leaving after so long. I said "two words" Huffington Post.LOL

Hugh, I think that gmail is probably better than AOL. You should, however, look at the Huffington Post before you dismiss it. You're into religion and they have an entire section on religion that is balanced.

Good move going to Google, though. They're a great company with the slogan "don't be evil". They are huge supporters of LGBT rights and treat all employees fairly.
