A Green Tool to Consider in Your Office Network

I've read many posts lately about offices trying to go paperless, and implement new green strategies.  I work alone out of my home office, but in my last part-time position before I went full-time in Real Estate, my employer had a great program installed on all of our computers.

It was called Phoneslips, developed by a Tucson resident within his business, Telexis Software, LLC.  My "boss" remembers it as being quite affordable, although I'm not going to quote maybe prices here.

PHONEslips is an easy-to-use software product that streamlines the handling of phone messages, office memos, e-mail, voice messages, the company client database and schedules. It is designed for professional offices in need of a simple program to manage office information.  It will even link to your smart phone.

To me, it was like professional IMing, and you could save it or note that it was urgent, right on your computer screen in a tiny corner box.  You could even write your own to-do list to have at your fingertips.

There are eight (8) main components of PHONEslips: Messaging, the PhoneList, the Scheduler/To-do manager, In/Out Board, File Cabinet, Call Logs, Bulletin Boards, and Discussion Groups.

If you have questions about Phoneslips or would like more information, they have a toll-free number at 1-800-301-8698 or e-mail at support@phoneslips.com.  Their contact information and address is: Telexis 2585 N. First Avenue Tucson, AZ 85719  (520) 884-8698  Fax: (520) 622-7257 e-mail: info@telexis.com

I don't work for them, and this is not an ad, for them - in fact - they don't even know I'm writing about them.  But, if you're trying to minimize paper usages and paper piles, BUT want a lasting record, this is an easy, professional route to take.  They even have a free trial period.

Just in case you're feeling a little green today...

Another tool I like, especially for the home office, is google voice. It's not as sophisticated as the product you mention, but it gives a visual email-like record of voice mails. It also allows incoming calls to go to my cell, office, home or all three. The speech-to-text voice mail transcription is also very entertaining (especially if you live in the south).

I wish they had a few more features like you are talking about, like notes or group functionality. It feels like google voice, google calendar and gmail are a small, integrated step away from being an incredible CRM/office phone tool.

Sounds like an excellent tool. Low learning curve and handy several times daily.

What an amazing program!   Sounds like it would be very effective for a large office.

Google has some excellent products - thanks for bringing them to our attention, Scott!

Glenn - I have to admit I liked the low learning curve...

Susan - it's interesting how much time it saves.  I think the owner purchased it mainly because it eliminated hand delivery of phone messages, notes, things to do, etc.  (Less face to face talking that way, and therefore, less wasted time....)
