Leading the way

By
Real Estate Agent with YourStories Realty Group MA# 9517963

Leading the way in real estate is a thought that I wake up with in the morning.  This is not to say I am leading the way, but I want to.  I want to be aware of what people are doing that is working so that I can emulate it.  I don’t need to reinvent the wheel I need to look at all the wheels that are rolling well and gathering speed and be like them.  There are so many great examples out there of people doing it right.  I find humor in the pundits putting the other pundits down, although I do find wisdom in the pundits who think other pundits who have not actually been on the front line of real estate are not as credible as those who have. MA real estate is a full contact sport as it was in TX.

There are people in my office who are disciples of Mike Ferry, Brian Buffini,  David Knox, Walter Sanford, and great thinkers like Bob Proctor and Napoleon Hill. There are newer breeds of pundits as well…it is hard to swing a dead cat without someone saying they know more than the rest.  Real estate is simple, but it is far from easy.  The discipline that is needed on a daily basis to succeed can be daunting for those who come into the business hoping for a quick buck.  There are no quick bucks in real estate.

Another aspect absolutely necessary for success these days is technology.  Those agents thinking they can work their sphere in the old way, may keep a client or two, but will loose any hope of competing with people who have moved their content and communications through the web and down into the cell phone. QR codes, Facebook, Twitter and more are integral parts of the system.  There is a lot to think about when you want to lead the way, but when you wake up the first thing to do is pay attention to those already doing it and see what you can copy and perfect for your own sphere of interest.  Good luck to you today and make it a great day no matter what you are working on.

Well said Larry. Our industry was stalemated for years and now technology and how we interact with people has totally changed and is continuing to change weekly. Need to stay on top of this or be left so far behind, there'll be know chance to catch up,

@Larry Technology is just another tool to do our real work and that is get in front of people every single day and offer them the best in real estate services.  Thanks for your comment.

@Peter  I think you can never get enough good words and inspiration in a day.  Today, thursday, is my Mastermind group morning.  A number of us read a chapter a week from Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich book and discuss what we are individually doing to reach our passion.  It is powerful.  I thank you for your comment.

@Walter, Thanks so much for keeping tabs.  You are clearly one of the few coaches who has actually accomplished what you coach about.  I still use many of your techniques daily.  Why?  Because they work.

I have read many of Walter Sanford's books.  I met him in 2009 at a convention where he was one of the keynote speakers.  His work and his success has fueled much of the actions I have taken in this new career.  Clearly he is a guy who knows the way.  The fact he would come in and comment on my blog, [(that does mention him, I realize)  Aside:Do you have google search set up to see what people are saying about you?  You should.], is proof that he is still kicking it on a daily basis.  I have two meetings today and I go into them knowing that I have one of the great coaches and leaders in this industry watching.  What could be better.  I know, closing the deals.  That is always the best.

Technology is great, but it still comes down to basics.  Respond quickly and give them what they want.  Answer the phone, or call them back as soon as you can.

Georgina, you are so right, when you have a client it is about the basics. Technology is what allows you to gather more clients. Thanks for stopping by.
