Towards the end of last year i was invited to join the wine group here on Active Rain. It was not a hard decision considering we drink wine every day, yes us Europeans or as someone said in a class I was attending last week, "You're Nick the British Guy from Active Rain!"
So I decided as we have so many wineries close to us to feature some of these and their wines. However as this is more of an introductory post it may not be as informative as later posts.
If you follow my posts you know I attended the Philadelphia Suburban Home and Garden Show last weekend. At the show Chaddsford Winery had a booth, I managed to get a photo of their selection but they then got swamped and I never got to taste any wine. But they are local located between Brandywine Museum and Long wood Gardens and well worth a visit. One of my daughter-in-laws actually went here briefly with friends on her hen party, and she loved the visit.
You can see a selection of wines, a Merlot, a couple of white wines and some blends, frnakly blends don't interest me. if I had been able to get to the front of the crush I would have asked for the merlot. But a visit to the vineyard will be much more fun later in the spring.
But I will mention a great wine we drank thanks to a client who settled on Friday on her new home and gave us a bottle of this great wine, a Saintsbury Carneros Pinot Noir from California. Great depth, lots of fruit, good legs and a delicious wine. Well worth buying if you can get it. Enjoy.
