Senator Haridopolos to appear on my radio show

Senator Mike Haridopolos - Chair of the Florida Senate Tax and Finance Committee and someone at the very heart of the Property Tax debate in Florida, will be a guest on my radio show - The Home Team - this coming Sunday at Noon.

The Senator is actually a returning guest even though we gave him a hard time last time he was on - a credit to him.  Senator Mike Haridopolos - a guest on The ome Team Radio Show

The whole property tax issue is now in question in Florida after a Leon County Circuit Court Judge threw the amendment off the ballot in January because it was so confusing.

Senator Haridopolos is on the record on my show saying he would ultimately favor the abolition of property taxes in the State. He also was very clear that some level of portability needed to be present in any legislation - something that was missing from the final draft of the Bill and the Amendment

His own website says the following: "He has stood up for Floridians against more government, higher taxes, and unrestrained spending. Mike is a co-founder of the Freedom Caucus that led the fight against the tax increase proposed during the 2002 session and has signed the Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) pledge each year in which he has been in the Florida Legislature. Beginning in January of 2007, Mike is traveling across the state to meet with citizens in a series of town hall meetings, designed to address the growing crisis of property taxes." -

Clearly he and I have a lot to discuss. You too can call in and question him by dialing 407 916 5400 or toll free at 1-866-916-5400. The Home Team airs every Sunday at Noon on 540 WFLA which you can go to and tune in on line if you are not in Central Florida.

Thanks for the heads up Simon.  Maybe you could ask the senator why he allowed insurance reform to morph into tax reform, a reform that cost over a hundred jobs here in Brevard County, including mine.  And then could you ask him, why he does not answer the emails of his constituents?  I've sent him MANY, all of which have gone unanswered.  When I call his office to inquire the standard reply is "I don't know" or "the senator answers all his email" that is, except mine.

Terry - we have actually covered the failed insurance reform package last time he was on. I intend to keep this on property taxes, but of course my listeners - including you - can call in and ask him anything. Once again The Home Team airs every Sunday at Noon on 540 WFLA which you can go to and tune in on line if you are not in Central Florida. The cal in numbers are 407 876 8895 or outside the Greater Orlando area at 1-866-916-5400.

Thanks Simon, I'll pass.  I've wasted enough of my time trying to contact the illustrious senator who apparently feels responding to his constituents is a waste of his time.
