Big Cat in San Antonio Texas

While driving to The Shops at La Cantera yesterday ...... I saw a Big Cat ....Well a Monster Caterpillar :  it was a D11 Caterpillar !!!!

D11 Caterpillar in San Antonio

This  Big D11N Caterpillar  weighs approximately  225,000 pounds or 112.5 tons    with 2105 cubic inch V8 producing 770 horsepower !!  WOW !

Big Cat

The D11N  Caterpillar  is so big ...inorder to move it to a new location...They need to take the tracks , blade and ripper off and transport on numerous transport trucks....

In my second job after graduating from Texas A&M a couple of years ago (!), we were exporting heavy equipment to the Middle East since they were in the midst of a construction boom. Very lucrative.
