History Murals of Kerr County Texas

By
Real Estate Broker with Century 21 Shirley Hooks, Inc.

The history of Kerr County depicted by murals as they were painted on the back of Tom Moore Lumber Company in Ingram Texas.  I think that all of the murals were painted by Westphal over a period of about two years.

The first mural depicting Joshua Brown and his cedar shingle business that he started along the banks of the Guadalupe River in what is now downtown Kerrville Texas.  The information inserts give the information on each mural.  There are fifteen murals in all and can be viewed as you drive down Hwy 39 in Ingram.

I will post five of the murals at a time to my blog until all murals have been posted.  The first two strip photos give an idea of the complete set.

What a great look at history in your area, Don. I'm guessing the camels didn't make it big in Kerrville?

Toni, The Camp Verde camel unit was a success in many ways for the army post that served the area.  However I am happy with not having camels as free roaming animals in the Hill Country. :):)
