Game day is not until Saturday but last night was scrimmage night. After a rigorous practice, my son ate a quick supper in the car and went on with a first "practice game" of the year. All this in the goal to be ready for Saturday's kick-off and in hope of a wonderful season!
This year, I chose to sponsor one of the team. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about this. The Bellingham Youth Baseball Association sent me an official invitation for the opening ceremonies. I would have been there anyway for my son but that was such a nice gesture on their behalf.
The thing is, of course it is good business. But my first thought was; while watching these kids for years, I was amazed on how they needs this. It is healthy. It teaches them "social skills" and "work ethic". It teaches them how to loose, and that is; on its own, a big life lesson. And when they win... it is plain magical! To sponsor a team is my actual privilege. I am honored to be welcome in this organization and to help make a team's dream come true. I will most likely end up being the one, learning a thing or two.
It will be a great season! Play Ball!
