HOW TO GET STARTED CLEANING FORECLOSED HOMES-FORECLOSURE CLEANUP-REO TRASH OUT-LAWN MAINTENANCE SERVICES AND BUSINESS START UP INFORMATION

I decided to write this blog post about how to get into cleaning foreclosed homes mostly out of the repetitiveness of how many times I have seen these questions asked.  Cleaning Foreclosed homes is a new niche business that is surging with the flood of foreclosures.  Here are some common terms you will want to familiarize yourself with if you are considering entering the business of cleaning foreclosed homes.

HERE ARE SOME COMMON NAMES OF THIS FORECLOSURE CLEANING INDUSTRY:

CLEAN FORECLOSED HOMES, FORECLOSURE CLEANING, FORECLOSURE CLEANUP, TRASHOUT, REO CLEANING, CLEANING REO PROPERTIES, PROPERTY PRESERVATION, FORECLOSURE CLEAN OUT

NO MATTER WHAT YOU CALL IT, ALL OF THESE SERVICES ARE REALLY THE SAME BUSINESS-The banks refer to them as Property Preservation Businesses.  Property Preservation Businesses come in and clean up, repair, and maintain the foreclosed REO properties for the banks.  Depending upon the bank that owns the house that has foreclosed, it may be the real estate agent "REO Agent" that handles hiring the companies that clean foreclosed homes or it could be the bank assiging a company directly through the REO Asset Management Companies.

Who do I contact to start cleaning foreclosed homes? I want to do lawn cuts and maintenance on the foreclosures-where do I start?

These are two very good questions.  Here are some simple answers to these questions.

#1-You will always want to research and learn the industry-the foreclosure REO industry is very unique however you really need almost no skills or previous experience to get started cleaning foreclosures.  One of the best resources I have found that is completely FREE, and we all love free is the Foreclosure Cleanup Network, www.foreclosurecleanupnetwork.com  Start there for information, it's free to join and network.  You can connect with me on there as well, here is my profile: Heather Paul Foreclosure Specialist

#2. For Foreclosure Clean Up "REO Trash Out" Training-you can find a wealth of it online, here is one website that has been around the longest and provides training in all aspects of the foreclosure industry.  They have written many books and training materials as well as provide direct contact lists to the banks, asset management companies, and mortgage lenders for both real estate agents and people interested in getting started cleaning foreclosures.

3.  Getting Cleaning Contracts for your Foreclosure Cleaning Business "REO Trashout cleaning contracts"

Getting the contracts is the name of the game when it coming to making your foreclosure cleanup business a success.  You will want to reach out to the local real estate agents and realtors in your area that handle REO properties "these are the real estate agents that list foreclosure homes" and make sure to get placed on every banks, mortgage lenders, and asset management companies REO vendors list.  The banks require all vendors to register with them to be placed on their vendors list, however once you are added to their vendors list, they will start assigning your work in your area. Be very detailed and make sure to include all the zip codes that you want to receive work orders in.  Before you know if the work will start pouring in.  There are literally hundreds of banks and mortgage lenders to register with, the more you sign up with the more work you will get.  Here is one list we found online, it has nearly 1200 bank foreclosure contacts for cleaning foreclosures: http://www.dreamstreetinvestments.com/Reo-Asset-Managers-List.aspx

4. Work hard and Ask for more work!! Once you receive your first foreclosure cleaning job, work hard-get your job done early-then reassure them you can handle more foreclosure cleaning work and ask for it.  When the bank asset managers see you have done a good job they will start assigning you more and more cleaning contracts.  One other place to find a lot of trashout work and foreclosure cleaning contracts is from the foreclosure cleanup directory, this is the #1 directory of foreclosure cleanup businesses and most of the banks and asset management companies rely on it to find their foreclosure cleaning "trashout" and lawnscaping vendors. Here is there link: www.foreclosurecleanupdirectory.com

I hope this helps answers many of your questions if you are thinking of getting into cleaning foreclosed homes and starting a Foreclosure Clean Up Business. Much success to you all!
