Mike Ferry's 2010 Superstar Retreat Recap

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with The Mike Ferry Organization

It's been almost 10 months since the 2010 Superstar Retreat and each of us should have had 1 of 3 things happen over the course of the year.

A. A much stronger skill set should be in place ... or

B. Our confidence in how to do our job should have increased dramatically ... or

C. We should have seen a very specific increase in production and income.

For many of you, all 3 of these have happened, and for some of you, unfortunately, none of these have happened.

I had an interesting conversation this past week with someone who attended Super Star Retreat 10 months ago. This person had "nothing happen" in terms of confidence, skills, or production over the last year. I have to tell you that this is almost hard for me to believe. In this person's case, not only was he at the Retreat for 4 days, but he's also been involved in our One-on-One coaching for more than a year. Something tells me this person has not been paying attention to anything that we've been trying to do to assist him. Let's go a little bit further with this.

First ... who is ultimately responsible for an individual's gains in terms of confidence, skills, and income? The answer of course is the individual. Too often unfortunately, we try to pass the problems we have on to someone else. We like to think we're not at fault when we aren't doing the things we've been taught and told to do.

Second ... how do you work 7-8 hours a day ... 5 to 6 days a week ... supposedly doing the majority of what we're teaching you, and not have a gain in confidence, skills, and income? This takes a lot of work. It takes a lot of work NOT to do and accomplish that which you know you should be doing and accomplishing. So how do we change that so each of us not only gets better but becomes more productive? The answer lies within being honest with ourselves about what we're doing each day ... being open to changing some of our habits and our behaviors ... and to understanding the importance of having the right attitude as we approach each and every day. Also it might be helpful if each of us actually followed the Mike Ferry Sales System as it's being taught.

Here's an example ... two One-on-One clients were discussing the listing process that we teach. I overheard one say to the other ... "Are you using the two-step listing process to get listings" and the other one said "Yes." You know me well enough to know I couldn't keep my mouth shut on that one. I jumped in and said "Where does it say in the Mike Ferry listing process to use a two-step listing process ... oh, that's right, you're not prequalifying any of your prospects before you go see them, are you?" They both sheepishly shook their heads no, smiled and changed the topic.

We want every one of you to have great years in the Real Estate business and great years require great changes. Here's the good news ... it's only a short time until the next Superstar Retreat in July ... are you making the appropriate changes in your behaviors and skills? If you are, it's going to be an exciting 4 days in July ... if you're not, will we even see you there?
