Rainy, cloudy, gloomy, windy and cold is a great way to describe today. The weather was not permitting today for the young'uns to go outside and play. Thankfully the gloomy weather caused them to be a bit on the low-key themselves. After playing with legos and trains for hours it got really really quiet in the house. I was on the phone chatting and realized that I should probably check on the little babes.
I didn't have to wonder long. The boys came bounding in the room right after I hung up with a 'sandwich' for me to enjoy. This sandwich consisted of two pieces of bread, a slice of turkey and some laughing cow cheese glopped in the middle. Yummm. I hankered it up a bit and enjoyed my treat. All the while I could hear them in the kitchen again, but decided to monitor from afar. My lovelies decided amongst themselves that I needed dessert with my mid-afternoon sandwich and but the top half off some strawberries and drenched them in chocolate for me.
A mother can really tell when she's loved! I loved the creativity of their gift... and the effort.
Just about the time that we were finishing their chocolate strawberries the sun finally came out so we headed outside for our few minutes of fresh air. I spent the next twenty minutes collecting dandelions that they were picking for me. They are truly my children. I remember collecting thousands of dandelions for my Mum when I was young... and I still love the little flowers.
My boys certainly know the way to their Mama's heart. Might be a little early for Mama's day, but I won't turn it down! All the while they gave me the great gift of concentrated work time! What a great way to spend a Saturday....
