Hi Joan...This sounds like a great opportunity for some young "flyers" to have a chance to spread their wings.  This is a good one to remind folks about as it gets closer to June 4th.  If I was up there and the right age (which I must admit I'm not) I'd be standing in line.

Kate - this is going to be a great opportunity for kids to spread their wings above Nashua NH.  I think I'll try to talk them into a flight since I have been promoting this event :) :)

We probably have at least one “experimental aircraft” crash here each month, never with a survivor. The smaller the airplane, the more frightened I am of it.

What a great opportunity to introduce kids to flying.  My husband has been a private pilot for almost 10 years.  My teenager has so many great memories of flying around Florida and California with her dad, that I'm sure they'll last a lifetime.  She's currently counting the days until we let her begin flying lessons.  She and dad are excited, but I'm sure I'll go completely gray before the first lesson!

Joan - We have a grandson who wants to be a pilot and every chance he gets he is off to see an air show or hitch a free ride when he can.

Joan, do you fly?  It takes a certain kind of person to pilot a plane, and this looks like a great way to  get started!

Hi Joan, That sounds like a lot of fun for the kids...but I remember my first chance to fly in a plane. My cub scout pack went to a local farm to take turns flying in the cropduster. I got so nervous about it (scared of heights) that I threw up and couldnt go on the flight. Sometimes being a cub scout isnt so easy!

Hi everyone -- thanks for your comments.  I keep posting replies and everytime I check back, they seem to disappear.  I am not ignoring anyone and I appreciate your taking the time to read this post and to comment.  I'll try posting again, and again thanks to Jim, Steve, Rebecca, Kathy, Kathryn and Andrew.

I don't know how to fly a plane, but I do love flying.  I used to get so excited when I would fly in to SF at night and see all the lights... it was breathtaking.

What a great way to get kids in to flying. Making it fun and educational for them at the same time. So many kids are scared of flying because they don't know how it works and how safe it really is.

Todd -- This is going to be a great day and I wish I was a kid... oh, I am a kid at heart, so maybe I can get a ride too!  It is important for folks who have fear of flying to get as much information as possible. I think it may help them overcome their apprehension.

I would love to borrow a kid for the day... and ride along.  This is going to be a very popular event and I hope I can get over to Boire field.

I had to come back to see if you went to the event and got any pictures, but I don't see any posts with kids with huge grins on their faces.

I was disappointed I could not make this event... and more disappointed that I wasn't a kid who could get a free plane ride!  LOL
