Can any stooge stage a home or does it take more than a sap? I learned it definitely takes more than a stooge to stage a home. I recently listed 26 Harvard Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603. This cottage style home definitely had vintage written all over it when I went on my first appointment. The large living room had red wool carpet which the owners believed was over 30 years old.
I suggested to the owners that a home stager would be a great idea. I contracted the services of Dawnell and Diane of Shape Up Your Space. They responded in short order and offered a list of suggestions to help put the best foot forward on this home. These staging suggestions were not made by a stooge, but a true professional.
You can only imagine the red wool carpet by looking at this picture. The hardwood now glistens. Green tiles were replaced by a more neutral palate. New paint was applied and the fire place was given a central significance. The blue tile walls in the bathroom were replaced by a bright, white bead board.
The owners of this property followed 95% of the suggestions, working hard and taking pride in their home. They definitely were not stooges in this staging process. Every once in a while you come across a seller who is serious about the sale of his/her home. In this case, I have a gem of a seller. Do not hesitate to contact a great stager when it comes to the sale of one of your listings. Do not be a stooge.
