Will ActiveRain ever get a "Schedule" button?

Will ActiveRain ever get a "Schedule" button?

schedulingI absolutely love that ActiveRain added "View Draft Posts" because now I can easily find what I have in draft and post them instead of storing them elsewhere or digging through my blog.

However there is one feature I would love to see ActiveRain implement and that is a "Schedule" button. I think it would be awesome to schedule when certain posts go public especially on days I know I'm going to be swamped or on vacation.  Real estate is by far not a set it and forget it business, but I would love to have this option.

Would you use this option if it was available?

I think it's a good idea. I'm not sure how much I would use it but it like the idea.

Love the idea and am really glad to see that it's on the AR to do list.  (Maybe the changes that are happening are good?)

Charita - To answer your question I write about upcoming events in my area weeks before they actually happen and posting them after writing them wouldn't make sense, so being able to schedule it would save me from having to remember to post it a few days before the actual event.

Also when I go on vacation I vow not to open my laptop, but my phone is free game and trying to post from a phone isn't the easiest thing to do even if the post is already written....I know because I've done it.

So for me it's all about time management, being consistent with my posts and letting my business run itself when I'm not around.

I would love this. I have several blogs in draft and it would be great to write things ahead of time and schedule when they get posted.  Especially if it is a post regarding an upcoming event.  Hope someone at AR is listening.

There are many things missing on this platform and this is one of them. Great suggestion.

It's something that we all want and now that we know Bob is on the case, it'll happen. I don't have any doubts. Next, let's see if we can get him to add something that will let us know if a commenter checks the "notify me of new comments" or not.

This is such a great idea and while I like to think I would use it, I scramble to post on a daily basis...yet I do DREAM of the day when I could not only get caught up but ahead - so I'm all for the schedule button..just in case.

I would love that.  I tend to create all my posts for the week at one time.  It would be great to create posts and schedule one a day for the week.

Michelle, I talked to someone who shall remain nameless at AR HQ today.  It sounds as if there is some progress being made for this feature.  Cross your fingers!

You bet. I drip all my blogs on About.com. It's the only way to go. I am astonished that ActiveRain has overlooked this essential feature, and I applaud you for bringing it up.

I like the idea. Count me in as a user. In fact, I could use it right now with a few in Draft Mode.

I wrote a post on May 2, 2011 that I wanted to post May 23, 2011... it was about a May 23, 1881 local event... not a huge event... just something that happened on that day in history.  A lot of times I just put the event and links to where to find info about it on my calendar rather than writing the post.  Perhaps I should have just posted it May 2, 2011...  One of my three ActiveRain Outside blogs has a lot of history on it because it is about a community that is steeped in history.  Scheduling would help so much...  I posted the post on May 24, 2011... 130 years and a day later?  Something like that.

Don -  I can't wait for the day I wake up to this new option.

Maureen - I have the same issue when I write about events or happenings weeks before they actually need to be posted and I would love to be able to schedule it as opposed to remember and make time to do it.

I guess it's only an 18 months old post.... about a feature that ActiveRain does NOT have.  "This is good information.  Thanks for sharing it." struck me as odd when I got the email with just the the post title and This is good information.  Thanks for sharing it..  Lots of that kind of comment on posts where the person who wrote the post is long gone.  At least Michelle is still active on AR.

We're still waiting for scheduling on ActiveRain!

A key part to "leveraging" our efforts is scheduling our time to write blog posts all togther.  I heartily agree that a schedule a blog post would work better than my faulty memory of activating a draft to active.
