VA Condo Approval Process.

With the number of our young men and women serving overseas in recent years, we once again have a large number new Veteran's who are eligible for VA Mortgages.  Because of this I feel that those of us in the Real Estate Industry have an obligation to remind our men and women that have bravely served our country of the home buying bennifit that is avaliable to them.

It has been a while since I have done a blog on VA Mortgages, so this is a good time to not only do one again, but to go into this special loan product in more debt than I have done in the past.  In most cases it would make sense to start off by giving the highlights of the program as an introdution to the series of blogs that I plan to do, but in this case I am going to start off by addressing the Condo Market first.  My reason for doing this is because, a large number of Condo's will be coming off the FHA Approved Condo List by the end of this month, making it more difficult for those who are looking to purchase a Condo to do so.

VA like FHA has an Approved Condo List at https://vip.vba.va.gov/portal/VBAH/VBAHome/condopudsearch   (Note: When looking up a Condo, DO NOT fill in the County) The VA Approved Condo List is different than the FHA Approved Condo List, even though they will have many of the same condo's on it.  However, one big difference between the VA and FHA, is that VA is not going through the whole re-certification process like FHA is, and therefore will provide a big advantage to a Veteran looking to purchase a condo.

If the a Condominium Complex is not on the VA List, it can be added by applying and submitting the information below.

I hope to start my series on this valuable home purchasing program for our Military Veterans tomorrow.  Besides providing information on the benifits of this program for our Veterans, I will also provide other valuable information and websites that they will need.
