How to improve your ActiveRain Profile.

If we really believe in something, we should be willing to repeat it, repeat it often, write about it and say it out loud.

Luckily, I'm willing to do all of the above.  In fact, when it comes to your ActiveRain Profile and your profiles on all Social Media Sites, I'm back to say, You Need To Improve Your Profile.

I may have mentioned this once or twice before, but there are now several thousand new members that didn't hear it the first time and about 150,000 members that just ignored me.

Let's try this again:

Your Incomplete Profile Is Hurting Your Image.

Points Or Profile?  Which Is More Important?

Congratulations! Your Profile Has Just Been "Featured".

Your profile is your resume.
It's very important that you represent who you are, your qualifications, what you do and what you're capable of doing for others.  In addition, you should at least consider how to give your profile powerful SEO content and even include lead capture capabilities, if you desire.

Here's my Profile:  Check Me Out!  My Profile is currently valued at 5269 Points and is due for an update.

Comparatively speaking, I have a lot of Profile Points and my profile is very long.  With enough content you will quickly gain points, but, points should not be your goal.  I've seen very powerful profiles (more powerful in terms of SEO and lead capture than mine) with many less points.   Create YOUR Profile based on appearance, content of value and functionality.

You should start with the most important content.  Make certain that your contact information is complete and accurate.  Then, provide information about who you are and what you do.  You should only provide as much information about yourself, background, experience and skills as you feel necessary.  I've provided several links to allow you or anyone an opportunity to check me out on my Website, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube, in addition to ActiveRain.

The next thing to complete is the Testimonials.  You should include as many as possible.  These are your references provided to other prospects, that may consider working with you.  Having just one reference looks questionable, having 3 is comforting and having a dozen or more is impressive and reassuring.

The biggest section of your profile provides an opportunity to make a sale before saying a word.  What you include can make the difference between being contacted and being dismissed.  My profile includes a lot of components, which in some cases was included to generate points.  I repeat, your primary goal should not be to max out on the point total.  You should include content that benefits your consumers.  If you offer something of value, demonstrate your uniqueness and fulfill a need, the consumer will contact you.

Remember, all blogs will lead to your profile.  What will people think when they CHECK YOU OUT?

Here are some samples of impressive profiles that will give you some excellent ideas:

.....Tammy Emineth..........Cindy Edwards................Anna Banana................Lenn Harley...........

........Mimi Foster........Sally And David Hanson....Maureen Megowan...Frank And Karen Baker...

........Debb Janes................Nyssa Smith...............Jeanean Gendron.............Jeff Dowler

If you've found other ActiveRain Profiles that should be shared,
leave a comment and I'll check them out.  If they're as good as you say, I'll add them to the list.

Tammie, You are no newbie!  I am happy to kick anyone, even you, in the butt, to move them forward.  Thank you for commenting and best wishes always.

Oh my goodness, WOW, PHENOMENIAL!!!!   Where to start?    I love how you add video!   Interesting enough the profile is what we did when we first started Active Rain and did not know ANYTHING!   Still feel that way, but boy I see I need to focus!!  Thanks!

Yvonne, I'm glad that you found your way to this post about Profiles.  Your comment is very correct about most people creating a profile, as a NEW member.  However, once you focus attention on the importance of your profile, it will begin to reflect what you wish others to know about you, and how you do business.  Thank you for leaving a comment, and best wishes always.

Wow, Richard, what a profile.  I worked on my profile when I started, but not like you have.

So far, I have not found active rain to actually draw clients to me.  For me, it has boosted my presence on the internet and drawn people to my website.  Perhaps if I had a profile like this, I would attract clients through Active Rain.  I will look at and re-work my profile

Richard, I am going to have to unsubscribe to your blogs ... lol ... you are giving me too many things to do! :-)  Thanks for sharing the information.  Now, all I need to do is find time to work on it.

Chris, Thank you for checking out this post about profiles, and hopefully, it will encourage you to pump up your profile to the level that you desire.

Increasing your Internet presence and drawing people to YOUR Profile is exactly what you should want from ActiveRain.  Let their Google Authority Ranking create the magnet to draw them to your blogs, and then you give them reasons to engage with your profile, which should lead them to YOUR WEBSITE, and off of ActiveRain.  The sooner you get a lead away from AR and it's 215,000 other (mostly) AGENTS, the better.  ActiveRain helps you attract leads, but YOU must capture and service those leads.  Good luck and best wishes always.

Lisa, Even if you Unsubscribe you will still seek me out.  I'm the drug that you crave, even if I do create more work from you.  We both know that what I'm recommending, is good for you.  Best wishes always.

I think I will be referring to this in the future as I get the profile more and more complete.  Great job and reminding everyone it is still about getting in front of the clients and doing a great job for them.

I have yet to sign on as a Rainmaker and I no longer appraise, but I am a general contractor, so my Profile is in dire need of an overhaul.  I will be making many changes to it in the near future and will keep this handy so I can 'hit the ground running' as a Rainmaker.  Thanks...

John, Becoming a Rainmaker will allow you to actually reach the consumers in the area that you'll be doing General Contracting.   Having an impressive Profile will go a long way in convincing prospects that you're the right person for the job, whatever that job may be.  Good luck and best wishes always.

Frank and Karen, I saw Bob's Blog this afternoon and have been busy updating and revising all of My Profile Related Posts that he mentioned.  ;-)

As I recall, YOU'VE been highlighted as an example of having a Good Profile, by me.  Keep doing what you've been doing and do it better, when you know you can and have the time to do it better.  Best wishes always.
