Because of the over population of  cats at the Arizona Humane shelters,

MCACC is waiving the normal adoption fee for all cats over 1 year old.

If you're looking for a furever friend, please consider adopting one of these cats looking for their furever home.

Below, are the locations of the Arizona Humane shelters.

Endre, the Arizona Humane Society does usually post the numbers and I wish them much success, as well. I'll let you know if they post the numbers.

Juli - THANK YOU for sharing this!  I had not heard about them waiving the adoption fees - hopefully more people read it (ones that can take on another cat.  Nathan would KILL me if I brought ANOTHER one home!).

LOL, Sharon.  I used to have cats, but my step daughter is so deathly allergic that when we decided to more here to Arizona, we found them great homes back in the Chicago area.  My puppies love cats - they're always amazed at the resident cats at the vet's office.

Thanks, Al and Peggy - I hope at least one kitty gets adopted from some caring Arizona resident reading this blog.  Pets give us so much.

Free adoptions are a great way for shelters to find new homes for animals.  I try staying away from shelters because I have NO WILLPOWER when it comes to bringing animals home. Currently, I have a cat and a dog, that I inherited from family, who could keep them no longer.  They are pretty special critters.

Juli -  great post, great idea.  I wish our local shelter would do this instead of accumulating more and more cats.  I have even suggested that they have a Seniors Day:  Senior Cats for Senior Folk   with reduced fees.

Re blogged with joy!

Juli, I am all for doing whatever it takes to give all animals a loving, caring home!  It breaks my heart to see animals suffer. It down right angers me to see animals abused!

Thanks, Margaret - that's what I'm hoping for, as well.

LOL, Myrl - are you saying you're a pushover?  LOL.

Susan, here, the dogs and cats who are "seniors" - 7 years old or older always have their adoption fees cut in half.  Then, there's days they are offered for free during special promotions.  Another promotion they do is a "pay what you can" week and many times the news channels will zoom in on little kids bringing in their pennies and quarters and wadded up bills.  The kids are so proud of themselves for "buying" their first pet.
