There are lots of coots at Lake Murray, which is a mile from where I live. It’s fun to feed them because they seem to know what a bag of bread looks like and before you even open it, they start coming at you from miles around, like something out of The Birds.

Jim-You're so right, when I lived on the lake, the coots would flock to our dock once they saw food.  They would such over like a bunch of tiny boats off to a race, a spectacle to see.
