When I was a teenager, I caught a Red Eft Salamander in a lake in North Carolina.  Uncle Frank was visiting at the time; he was fascinated with the creature.  Upon his return to Baltimore, he painted Two Snowy Owls gazing in awe at the Bright Red Salamander.  That painting hangs in Mom's living room.

We once talked with Uncle Frank in Baltimore; he had returned from a European trip to study the works of Sir Peter Paul Rubens, and was anxious to tell of his Journey.  (Uncle Frank was a renowned expert on Rubens, and was welcome in the inner recesses of the Great Museums of Europe).  Frank Redelius was a spirited Artist, very passionate - he broke down in tears as he spoke of "Holding the Works of Rubens in My Hands".

Fred,

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. It must have been neat to have someone like your uncle Frank in the family. I'm sure you learned a lot from him.

Virginia,  Uncle Frank provided us a glimpse into the World of Great Art.    I thank God for the time we had with him.

Hi - Thank you for sharing information about your uncle. I have two of his works on ebay right now, and so I wanted to learn more about him. These are prints on wood I think, but they are so beautiful. My father was an artist too, same style. He recently passed away as well. All the best!

Hi, Laura.   One of the challenges with my late Uncle's original works are the medium that he used.  He experimented with many types of canvas, and many types of paint.   Some original works have not aged as well as others.

Thanks for commenting, and best wishes on your eBay sales!

May your father rest in peace.
