What a drag. Active Rain’s not responding again.

What a drag. Active Rain’s not responding again. It was about 4:20 this morning when I posted my 10th comment for the day that it happened, Active Rain stopped responding. It was terrible; I was having so much fun. I had just commented on Susan Neal’s post: Speechless Sunday: Nighttime visitor in Fair Oaks CA

So what are you left to do at 4:30 in the morning when AR gives up on you? Well, you throw together a quick post worth 225 points, and then you turn off your laptop and go to sleep. On Active Rain even a disappointment can be turned into something useful.

Suesan...

Yeah, there are some glitches, but overall AR has been running pretty good lately, so let's chalk it up to an anomaly!

It never ceases to amaze me how technologhy now completely dominates our lives. My 14 year old computer addicted daughter loves to give me a hard time when I am without my beloved internet. Yes...I am addicted!

Bruce I had already gotten a good 5 hours before waking up on jumping on AR and I got another 3 hours after that. Got up, put up my post and am definitely enjoying my morning. You have a great day as well and thank you for stopping and commenting.

Richard I will agree with you that for the most part AR has been working great. I wasn’t complaining; it was more like being in the middle of a good song and the power going out. Then I thought hit me that I like it here so much the only other thing I think of doing now is going back to sleep. Talk about being addicted to something!

Andrew I totally understand and share in your addiction. When our Internet goes down my son and I feel like some how the water was sucked out from under our boat and we’re stranded till the water comes back in.

I've been having terrible internet problems the last 2 weeks. Not so much Activerain but Time Warner cable outages due to the heat wave.  I would think their technology could stand change in weather. When the internet is out so is the TV. I figured out a way to get back online. I plug my phone into the laptop with usb and I change the setting from WiFi to G3.

Sue - Maybe the guys at AR were "assuming" everyone was asleep and took the time to do some tweaking.  4:20 is either too early or too late for me to be "computering."

Roy John might be right; AR might have just been doing something with their servers at that time. I went to bed and when I got up this morning everything was working fine.

Mitchell it was definitely just AR. I checked my Yahoo and G mail accounts before going to bed for the night and they were both working fine.

Jay not only can I say good morning, I also made a few extra points with this post. It was AR as Yahoo and G Mail were working fine. As John said, the techs were probably tweaking something for 15 – 20 minutes was all.

Suesan, I guess when you get lemons then make lemonade as you did...I don't think I've seen 4:30 a.m. in a while.

Nick one has to learn to see an opportunity when it presents itself and I love lemonade. 4:30 comes easy to me on a weekend when the weeks been hectic. I crash and burn by 9:00pm only to find myself ready to go by 2:00am. When it happens on a Saturday into Sunday it’s great cause I can get a few things done, go back to bed and I'm still able to be up by 7:00 or 8:00am.
