The Big Picture of the Great Valley

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with 3:16 team REALTY ~ Locally-owned Frisco TX Real Estate Co. #9001154

Insomnia seems to hit more often than it should. In the long hours of the night, I was channel surfing and found a little excerpt worth sharing from the Ancient Secrets of the Bible. I didn't remembered whom, but it was a great message all wrapped up in 3 statements about God's Will and what you do when you are in the valley:

1. Trust in the Lord. Lean not on your own understanding.

2. Believe in His power & His mercies.

3. Wait for Him to do what He needs to do at His time.

(3) is the hardest... We live in a microwave society where waiting 30 seconds is too long. His timing may not be our timing unfortunately.

But remember to look at the big picture of the Great Valley. Know that the Lord sees our overall picture, while we only get glimpse of where we are at. If we are able to take the step back and enjoy the view like He does, I'm sure we would very well agree with Him.

Scripture of the Week:

Lord, let your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:10

I begin my week here on Active Rain with my God First posts, written every Sunday once a week. My promise to you is that the messages I share will be day-to-day related, often times related to real estate. If these topics are important to you also, I'd love for you to subscribe to my blog.

Loreena, your timing could not have been better. So often we ask why when we should just believe in him. Have a great week.

Loreena,

It is always necessary to step back and look at things from God's perspective (as much as He will allow us to, as we can't see everything like He can), because doing so more likely than not will change our outlook, our perception, of where we are and what we are going through. These posts are timely and inspiring as always.

Hi Loreena,
Thanks for sharing. Very timely indeed, this morning I meditated on waiting on the lord as well. Sometimes we really get inpatient but God is the master that controls everything according to his will and timing. Patience is a virtue; hence we need to trust and lean on him!

Great advice Loreena. The third one is tough. When we are impatient, it is our will getting in the way.

Hi Loreena,

1000 years is as a day to the Lord - that is easy to read in Peter, but hard to really accept when you are crossign the long valley.

Thanks as always, for your post

Phil

Thanks for the post.   It struck me as we went through a very hard week last week and it seemed prayers weren't answered.  Or should I say not the way we wanted them answered.

I have always thought of the Lords Prayer as a rote prayer but have started to pray it everyday.   It is the example Jesus gave of how we SHOULD pray.   Praise first, his will be done, ask for our needs, and ask for forgiveness.   So many times we dive right in asking for what we want before we praise him for what he has given us.

Loreena, thank you for the inspiration. This is very timely, you are right that we very eager and can't wait for the right time. I think it's the fast-paced environment we had, but not all things are instant sometimes we have to take it slow and appreciate the waiting time because there is a reason for it.

His timing is not always what we expect. He's plan and timing is always better than ours.

Loreena, so true. If we could only better understand God's plan for us and be willing to wait.....it's coming! Nice Post!
