From The Watering Hole

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker

I'm here at my favorite watering hole again, the Tribeca Tavern in Cary, NC.  No hot leads were found tonight, but I did have the pleasure of meeting two fellow Realtors.  I had the chance to discuss buyers, sellers, and general market conditions.  One is currently going through Buffini training and the other was telling me of how she sort of partnered up with an experienced agent in her office to help get the training and experience necessary to kick start her career.  It reminded me of an article I read that talked about the older Realtors, who are less tech savvy and less appealing to the Gen X and Gen Y clients, seeing the usefulness of partnering up with younger Realtors who will have more credability with the younger generations.  Something to be said for that.

I'll have to generate a post specifically talking about this phenomena.  I think it is a potential answer to everyone's question, "where are the buyers?"  They are out there, but they're so tech reliant and savvy that they don't come to a realtor first, if at all.  The whole situation points to internet exposure and the building of a Gen Y base of clients who will be our referral sources for years to some.  We'll touch on that one later.  For now, it's off to bed, then back to the office early tomorrow for more real estate fun!

Hi John, Meeting the other Realtors may have been "hot leads" of a different nature.  Getting to know our fellow Realtors in our working areas usually leads to smoother and more respectful negotiations further down the road.

I'll bet you'll discover this was a valuable investment of time!  Plus you probably had a tasty meal too.
