Active Rain "Member's Only" Posts are Once Again Accessible...

By
Real Estate Agent with New Home Hunters of Fort Worth and Tarrant County

I am sure some of you have figured it out.  Some Active Rainers were not able to access any of the blog posts that are labeled "Member's Only."  The good new is... I just checked... and it is NOW working !  Hooray.

This had been going on for about the last day and a half.  I spoke with Active Rain a few times, I emailed them, and I have even commented on the Active Rain "Facebook Page."

Did you know that there even WAS an ActiveRain Facebook Page ?  I only found that out during the last "outage" AR had about a month ago.  I was told several times, and had also seen the message several times on the AR Facebook page... that they were "working on it."

So... if you had not been able to access any of the Member's Only posts... that was the reason.

Also... if you are an Active Rain "Newbie" who has testing the water before you made the Active Rain plunge... you could only access, or only post Member's Only posts.  What this meant... during the 36 hours or so that Members Only posts had not been accessible... is that you are only able to read posts... but not comment on them.

Secondly... if you had written any posts... and marked them "Members Only"... and had not received any comments, and were wondering why... now you know.  Although your Members Only posts could be read... many Rainers... if not all... were not able access them in order to make a comment.

Also... in trying to figure out what was wrong... and why I could not access any Members Only posts... I thought that before I called Active Rain... I would look and see if Nikesh... the new Active Rain dude... had written a post communicating this problem to the Active Rain members.

For quite a while there... after he became the head dude... he was great in keeping us informed about what was going on when problems arose.  But... after looking for a post from him... I found that he has not written any communication posts in about three weeks.  After being so good at communicating right after he came on the scene... not seeing anything made me wonder if the Tea Party was holding poor Nikesh hostage.  Oh Golly... I hope not !

Nikesh... are you alright ?

But again... I just checked... and Active Rain has come to the rescue.  Our Members Only posts are now able to be accessed, and able to be commented on.  Active Rain... thanks for all the work you did to fix it.

I was gonna write a post this morning... to the people that I tried to comment to last night, but couldn't.  Very frustrating.

Hey Karen it was wacky yesterday so I just gave up and went back to work.  I sure hope the tea party hasn't taken Niki hostage.....that would be a real bummer for the rain community.

Tammy:  It was very frustrating yesterday.  I could not get into any Members Only posts... and my Members Only posts were of course not getting comments.  So, I changed many of them to Public posts... at least for awhile.

But what was more frustrating was that I could not find ANY mention of what was going ... here on AR.  I thought Niki had remedied the lack of communication.

Anna... yeah... we may have to put together a rescue party to go find Niki... and break him free of their hold.  You have any BananaTude Folks... with bullet-proof BananaTude Outfits, of course... you can spare for the raid ?  Once we find out where they're holding him... we'll have to act quickly !

Miss Karen- yes yesterday was a bit of a pain.  I've learned a while back that if I'm having issues with AR.. well not the people but with the site, that I go to the AR Fan page or Twitter!  Anyway I'm glad everything is back to normal .. well as normal as it could be.

Hannah:  I only found out about the Facebook Page during the last "outage."  It appears that the nicely-improved communication that Niki was implementing has fallen prey to the same malady that caused the AR hamster in the hamster cage to slow down on the job.  I fear for both of them.

And honestly... my cat does not like being "in the bag."  Well... occasionally she has a few too many glasses of White Zinfandel, which, of course, puts her "in the bag..." but she is working on that problem.  I am so proud of her.

Karen Anne, thanks for staying on top of this and informing us what is going on and holding people accountable. Over time you sure wish the problems would go away but they seem to pop up now and then out of the blue don't they?

Karen, you are one smart cookie! I did notice that there were certain posts I couldn't comment on, but never put two and two together.

Besides the Tea Party is too busy holding the US, Congress and Obama hostage. They got nothing for their trouble but blame, sigh

Karen Anne, I should always just check with you when there is Pain in the Rain.  I couldn't figure it out.  As to the Tea Party having Niki in their clutches, I don't think they could scare enough of the sick or elderly public to make it worth their while...besides, what on earth would they find to talk about?

I will say that since the reins were handed over to the new folks at AR, there does seem to be far less downtime.

John:  I try to be a multi-tasker... which you would see if you'd come over and read some of my blog posts.  You might even like some of them... although I am sure you would also find some you would not like.  Multi-tasking... multi-faceted.
