Kindergarten - Look What You Did To Me! - Thank You!

Ahhh, kindergarten. For most kids it was a time of innocence and social interaction.

For me, it was a different story....

Growing up in New York City, kindergarten was a tough place.

The curriculum was NOT easy....

Craig Rutman, your Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area Realtor never really received a report card like this one!

The schoolyard taunts were brutal....

Schoolyard taunting is NOT a good thing!

The rejections came swift and often....

Thanks ladies. And don't act surprised. You know who you are!

But did I let any of that effect me?

Well, truth be told, yes I did!

But it was experiences like these that helped shape who I am today.

I was able to take those experiences and,

being the eternal optimist that I am, find the positives in them.

Those positives made me want to help others.

They made me want to make people laugh and feel good about themselves.

And those positives made me work hard to be the best I could be regardless of who and what I encountered in my day to day life.

So, while it wasn't easy growing up in New York City, all I can say about the experience is I think I turned out OK, I've achieved a moderate level of success, have pretty much everything I could ever want, and my Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area home buying and selling clients enjoy working with me.

And it all started out in Kindergarten!

Kindergarten - Look What You Did To Me! - Thank You!

Growing up in NYC wasn't easy. But I think I turned out OK!

True about kindergarden but now you have your own G5. The first kindergarten in the US was in Watertown Wisconsin

Our first trip to NYC we did a LOT of walking around and passed a few schools.  SOOOOO different from what I know with open yards and green spaces.

Kindergarden wasn't quite like this for me.  As I recall, I went to school and came home and not much else happened.  It looks like your experience must have worked out for you.  It's like naming your boy Sue.  It just made you a better person and a little tougher.

You really do crack me up. Very funny and yet sweet. Love these words Craig. Have a great weekend.

Those positives made me want to help others.

They made me want to make people laugh and feel good about themselves.

Tom - Interesting little tidbit there about the 1st Kindergarten being in your home state, Tom. Thank you for that.

Frank & Karen - When my friends are happy and smiling, I'm happy and smiling.

Laura - Those NYC schools are quite a bit different from the ones here in NC too. The big difference is that here we see trees when we look out the window. In NYC, we only read about them in books!

Lou - Yes, the Donald only got his jet after seeing mine. You know how he has to keep up with the Joneses! He's so insecure!

Larry - Let's do it! But with jet fuel prices soaring, you'll need to bring your own peanuts though!

Doug - Love the Johnny Cash analogy here Doug! Did you know that I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die?!!!

Larry & Sheila - Heather and I are going through a little thing right now. She thinks she's getting married to that James Wagner guy or something silly like that!!!

Debb - Debb, I'm glad you're enjoying the posts. They're all the same too! Some Real Estate information sprinkled in with some yucks along the way.... because I missed the memo that said we weren't supposed to have fun doing what we do...
