Osprey Golf Club Pre Hurricane Irene

I was surprised to look out my window this morning to see golfers out on the Osprey Golf Course in Belmont Bay.  I guess they have all of their hurricane supplies and decided it they still had time to get in 18 holes before the rain started. Gives new meaning to the phrase "playing through."

I hope that all of you stay safe these next couple of days! Being prepared is always the key. Irene just passed by me in Saint Augustine Florida with lots of wind and rain but no real damage. I hope that you all will be as lucky!

Diane-After leaving on an island for 3.5 years I learned how to prepare for bad storms.  I hope everyone is prepared and if the worst doesn't happen at least they'll have basic supplies for the future.

Barbara Jo-my brother in FL called to make sure I had my supplies lined up.  You do have plenty of experience in dealing with wind and rain from storms.

That's dedication.  Wonder if they will blame their slice on the wind?

Haven't looked at a map, but hope Woodbridge is well inland. If not, those golfers could be asking for trouble.

Brad-we are now starting to see the rain and wind.  I live a block off the Occoquan River so we are waiting to see how the boats in the marina fare.

Cindy - hopefully you will not be affected - I am praying that the news media is making more of it than it really is - but glad you are prepared if it turns bad.

Louise-just did a post storm survey of the neighborhood.  Not even as bad as some of our normal thunderstorms.  No damage other than a few tree branches.
