Don't Yank My Chain!

Short Sales in Phoenix are plentiful as are Foreclosures. What works is that a lot of  first time home buyers, investors and move-up buyers are able to get some smoking low prices on Phoenix Area Homes. And with interest rates being so ridiculously low, it's one of those no brainer times to purchase a home or investment(s) - if - the time is right for you.

So what's all this about yanking my chain?  Thanks for asking! Here's the deal, my clients, home buyers and investors, Straight Talking Phoenix Real Estate Brokerunderstand that I shoot straight and tell them exactly as I see it.  That's just the way I do business and have for the last 24 years.  When I think  a home is going to sell fast, I'll tell you. When I think it's priced right, I'll tell you. When I think it's really a dump and not a great investment, I'll tell you.  I'm not in business to sell you something you don't want and is a poor investment. Period. And my clients don't want me to make up some fancy story, they just want my experienced perspective. It's my job to guide the process and it's my home buyers and investors job to make the final choices.

I'm not going to Yank Your Chain when it comes to buying a home or investment property

Why is it so important to say this today?   A potential buyer I worked with briefly, was certain I had no idea of what I was talking about.  He wanted it his way and that was that.  He seemed to know it all - yes one of those types.  Of course he had never purchased a home before nor had any real solid facts to back up his strategy and wild ideas.  And when he started in with a few 'choice' words, well that's when I called it quits. And this is before I had even met the guy!  Unbelievable.

I work with such great clients, and I have for years, in fact many have been with me from my very first years in the real estate industry. So if you're in the market to buy a Phoenix home to live in or to buy as an investment properties - and- you want an honest to goodness straight shooting broker on your side, give me a call.  We'll map out a plan to fit your goals and strategies and the  buying and closing process will be as smooth and stress-free as humanly possible. You can count on me to put your interests and needs first - and to give you the facts of each potential purchase so you can make your best decision. I've got your back when it comes to buying real estate in the Phoenix Area. If you're reading this and it makes sense to you, call me.

Anna - I don't pull any punches when it comes to my clients and they know that from the get go when we meet.  Doesn't do us or them any good if we're both not on the same page.

Anna, you are right on the money about being straight and honest with clients.  I see agents who will say and do anything a clients wants to hear.  Not me, and obviously not you.  I need to sleep at night, so it's the straight scoop with me.  If that isn't what a client wants, I'm not the agent for them.  Simple.  Good stuff!!

Experts abound - they are literally everywhere!  Didn't you know that?  I had one buyer lowball because their UNCLE told them what to offer!  Wow! What amazing vision this guru has since he doesn't know the area and has never seen the home.  Simply astounding.

All your clients are lucky to have you. . many times as a listing agent I hear. sense and feel he desperation of the buyers agent on the other side. . . letting me know right away, never mind my client. .I want to get paid!

Of course I use that to my advantage to help my client . . so  the buyers get the short end of the stick (as long as it is legal). .every time.

Anna --- I am straightforward, tell the buyer what I am thinking, and don't just kiss axx to get him to write an offer / sell a house. That's the best way to be!

There are many non-Realtor "experts" out there giving real estate advice on forums. They include doctors, engineers, plumbers, and anyone else who has access to the internet, and is under the impression that there is nothing to being a real estate professional.

So this guy has been reading those forums and looking at Zillow's Zestimates, and now he is an expert. What possibly can a Realtor know that he doesn't know! :-)

In this day of HGTV and the Internet, there are many so called arm chair experts that really have no clue.  They don't believe they can learn anything form an expert.

Sometimes you just need to "cut em' loose" Anna.  There is such a limited supply of homes out there, and you're better off working with buyers who can appreciate what you bring to the table.

I fired a "know it all" a few weeks ago.  She seemed to know everything and felt I wasn't telling her what she wanted to hear.  In the end, it wasn't worth the aggrevation.

Anna Banana, "choice words"?  That has never worked with me neither.  I don't know why some people think it's necessary but in my opinion if they show this kind of lack of respect from the onset, there is not way but to get away from them.  Good for you and have a great weekend!

Markita - I think we can say things in a way that is not harsh but rather showing them all sides and giving them some perspective to consider. This seems to work best for my clients. Then it's up to them to make their choice.

Donna - you've got it!

Mike - yes.  In the long run it's best to give our best experienced opinion.

Ruthmarie - you gave me an idea for a post! Thanks!

Susan - some days it just comes out!

Sandy - why thankyou!

Rosalie - actually for being 40+ man if acted more like an emotional teenager that of course knows it all. And we know how that works out!

Marge - that's what they pay us for!  Can you imagine going to an attorney and insisting the laws are not what he/she it telling us.  Or a dentist?  Craziness.

Cheryl - agreed 100%.

Fernando - yes and we have a lot of that going on here with constant multiple offers.

Chuck - yes there are and many haven't reached 16 yet!

Michael - after all these years in the biz my clients know I tell it like it is because - I care.

Erica - agreed!

Bill - not much.  And he made it also clear that I had no clue and was just out for me. Huh?  What planet did he come from.  All this after 2 short phone calls of about 5 minutes each. Crazy.

Belinda - now I know what you're talking about!!  I get it :)

Gabe - oh well. You get what you pay for.

Bob you and I sure know this well, don't we. See you at the meetup on Thursday!

Bryan - you weren't telling her what she wanted to hear!  You were tellling her the straight skinny and some folks don't want to hear that.

Silvia - absolutley. I wouldn't work with this guy for any amount of money.  Shut the door tight! I don't put up with that kind of nasty behavior - ever.   Thanks!!  I am having a great weekend!!

Anna - This is so true.  How can we stay in business if we're not straight with our clients.  Further, if they don't trust us, how can we truly help them?
