Using picnik.com to edit your pictures for your blog...Some before and after pictures

If you're not aware of picnik.com then you really should head over there and check it out. I know I've written a  post in the past and well as many other folks here on AR, but this is a program I use all the time to enhance my pictures so thought I'd give it another plug. It's a free program for lots of stuff..but for around $25 you can do lots more with it. Here are some pictures that I've "Picniked" that might otherwise  not have been as good..or clear, or just plain cool!

This is an old Mill I came across that was next to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I didn't have my camera with me this day (yeah, my bad), but snapped this with my 3G I-phone anyway.

Old Mill in Newberg

You can see after putting this picture through picnik.com, the colors pop, I was able to crop out and resize as well.

Old Mill, Newberg Oregon\ Now this one was taken with my regular camera...big difference than my I-Phone, and the day was sunny

Old Mill, Newberg OregonI played around with it and thought this looked pretty cool!

Old Mill, Newberg Oregon

We all know that the best time to take pictures is in the morning, or late afternoon..but sometimes we just need to take pictures when we can. On this day it was really sunny and the sun was not working in my favor. Also, the neighbor had parked their car where it was in the way of the angle I needed to get the picture so the sun didn't show those beams.

2513 Heritage Way, Newberg

I was able to go into picnik.com and crop out the house and car on the left, clarify, and bring out the colors of the trim.

2513 Heritage Way, Newberg\This picture was taken out on the boat when we were on the Willamette River. It's not easy taking pictures on a moving boat!

City of Portland from the Willamette River

I was able to again, give it focus and pop..and I think the frame makes anything into art.

City of Portland from the Willamette River

I liked this one so much, I made it into my header for my blog!

Cindy ~ the first time I used picnik was when I read a post from Craig how to fix your profile picture to HD and earn more points! Perfect reason to go to Picnik and learn what it was all about!!

Cindy, what a great way to show the benefits of Picnik.  I have used Picnik to creat QR codes which I learned about from Brad I believe.  Thanks for showing the differences, they are quite extreme.  --Krystal

Hi Krystal, Picnik can be used for so many things. I use it for my QR codes as well which I found through Brad as well. I've seen others use the slide show and the collages which look great.

You're right about that - framing will turn any picture into art. You are unusually good with Picnik. I tried to use it for a while but did not get the same results.

Hi Jill, there's always so much to learn and do here. I'm soooo behind on updating my profiles and signatures. It always takes more time then I think. That's one of the reasons I love this program, it's easy and I see results fast :)

Cindy, I used Picnik a few times, but I had no idea that its edit capabilities were as extensive as you displayed. You and Picnik rock.

Hi Wayne, thanks..and I haven't even begun to take advantage of the collages.  If you check out Barbara Hensley's blog as well as Kristine Ginsberg, you'll see some really great examples of collages and great uses for picnik.
