Nashville Home Inspection - Exterior Lighting Installation - What's Wrong With This Picture?

Please look at the picture below.  What is wrong with this exterior lighting installation?

HINT:  Aren't we suppose to avoid the big power lines?

Mast at Eave Light

ANSWER:  Yes!  So who thought it would be a good idea to put the eave lights just above the high voltage power lines??  Careful changing those light bulbs!

Thank you,

Richard,

Some of the things we see are just unbelievable, I just inspected a property where the high power lines where over a swimming pool. Apparently the homeowner had put he pool in himself and didn't even think this was a concern!

Hi Stuart,

I hear you.  Unfortunately this installation was by a licensed contractor and this is a new home!  How did it pass the municipal inspection?  And the effort it took to turn the service conductor conduit 90 degrees like this, versus just going straight up through the roof, seems like a lot of work.  Either way, this is a trap for the homeowner not realizing how dangerous this is.

Thanks,

Richard
