For those who have had someone in their family diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, the feeling afterward is not something we would wish upon someone else.  You try to hang on for as long as you can.  Sadly, there comes a time when they lose that battle and anyone who has lost someone close can relate to that.  Over 5 million Americas and their loved ones  are impacted by Alzheimer’s.  The Litty Family in Cary lost their dad to the disease in June of 2010.  They have been participating in the Alzheimer’s walk for the past 8 years.  In that time, they have helped raise over $20,000 towards research for Alzheimer’s in North Carolina with the support of others like you.  This year they are planning to walk again on October 1st in memory of their dad Richard C. Litty.  They ask that you help out and donate if you can.  You can either donate on the website (http://alzwalk.littyfamily.com) with paypal or a credit card or mail a check for Alzheimer’s North Carolina, Inc. to their addrerss at:

It is very upsetting to hear of a family's loss, but it is great that they are doing so much good to help out with Alzheimer's research in this area. I think I will go check out that website and see what I can give.

Alzheimer's is near and dear to my heart as I have had both an aunt and a great grandmother become victims and lose the battle. My grandmother is currently living with ths awful disease. Some days are better than others. I hope they raised a ton of money!
