I was privileged recently as ActiveRain included my signature posts series in a recent email newsletter blast. Wow! I got some really great new comments and several new subscribers from that. So cool! (and I hope you enjoyed the series if you hadn't previously seen it)
Meanwhile, I also made lots of new contacts from the visitors and was asked even by a couple if I could create signatures for them as they liked the previous ones I had created. So I started off with Kathy McGuriman. When I create a custom signature, I get to do some advanced graphic and HTML techniques that are beyond the classes that I have (so far) taught. But notice the principles are still the same even for signatures that you can create yourself. Who and WHERE you are. A tagline and reference (usually a logo) to your brokerage is important. How do we contact you? So far it is very much like a business card. However, let's include a block of text about your services that is good also in google/keyword rich ways. Now let's wrap up with some call to action buttons and a few of the main social network buttons, and voila!
Now let's jump over to Debbe Perry down in Morganton, NC. Debbe also asked me to create a signature for her. I realized her blog also was missing a banner and background to make a completely themed page... so we agreed that we should do the whole page layout!
In the banner we picked three pictures to exemplify the beautiful area she lives in and aids buyers in sellers in their real estate needs. We included a tagline and contact tel number in the header. It is true that the telephone number is under her picture, but this is such an important thing you don't want the reader to miss!
In the signature for Debbe, we again included the contact number with a couple of very brief descriptive paragraphs about her that are also keyword focused. We included buttons to her main calls to action (don't leave your reader without a next step taking them to more of your info, don't lose them now!). We also included the social media sites. The photo is a great personal shot of Debbe with her dogs and her husband. It was one of two optional photos that she had sent to me. I picked it because it really shows the HUMAN and PERSONABLE side of her. I really like it when we see a different side and perspective of a person instead of the same stock photo that you use over and over and over and over again. (that's my opinion, do you agree?)
Well I hope you like some of my creations from the past week and perhaps it will inspire you to work on your own header or signature. If you check out my catalog of posts (down below in MY signature, you'll find various how-to articles). And I'd love it if you go visit Debbe and Kathy and say hi and tell them you came to visit via Craig's Classroom :)
