I Can Predict the Future.... Can You?

By

Talking to a friend of mine at my hockey game today I said to him "I Can Predict the Future.... Can You?"  This comes from our conversation about life and where we are today in life.  He was telling me that he was dealt a tough life and living paycheck to paycheck is the way life is for him.  He said "I don't sell mansions like you do."  He is 42 and waiting for his big break in life.

I Can Predict the Future.... Can You?

After telling him that "I Can Predict the Future.... Can You?" he say "No I can't and neither can you."  I beg to differ..... We all can predict the future IF we were serious about it.   I told him how to do it

THE ONLY WAY TO PREDICT THE FUTURE IS TO CREATE IT.

We talked about life and living everyday to the best of our ability.  I asked him where he was in life with his wants, desires, goals and dreams.  He pretty much told me that he lives day to day and takes what life gives him.

I don't understand how people live like that so I told him that he is EXACTLY where he is at today form his thoughts in the past.  To get ahead in life you HAVE to have goals, dreams, desires and motivation and accountability.  I can not believe that he told me that is to much work and sounds exhausting.

I told him that at first in might be due to the fact that we make our habits and then our habits make us.  So it may be tough at first but that short time of toughness can and will change his life.

It's time to roll up his sleeves , get his s*&^ together and let's take responsibility for our lives.

I Can Predict the Future.... Can You?

We stopped talking to play our hockey game.  We won, it was a tough game where it was getting alittle out or line physically between the two teams.  He left the rink fast.

I hope he really is ready to "Get down to business" in life.

That goes for everyone.  THE ONLY WAY TO PREDICT THE FUTURE IS TO CREATE IT.  I did it and I'm still doing it.  Are you?

Steve:  I understand what you were trying to say to your friend, but it sounds just a bit too much like "tough love" to me.  Sounds like he is down... so what do you do... you smack him.  I think if I had a "friend" like you, I would have "left the rink fast" as well.

Karen, he is a hard ass, smack talker during games and a tough guy.  He left fast due to the fast that he was thrown out of the game with 12 seconds left due to an altercation that almost led to a fight. Haha, he went after 2 guys at the same time.  One of the other guys crushed a smaller younger guy into the side boards and hurt him pretty bad so the guy I was talking to earlier ( our captain) jumped that guy. It was getting ugly towards the end.  Lets just say the refs threatened to call the cops on the ones looking to fight after the game.  So he left pretty fast.

But tough love is what he needs.. He sounds like he is play the "victim" in life and if I can verbally slap him around to wake him up them I am doing him a HUGE service.  If he don't get it then oh well, I tried.  We are pretty cool with each other so we can say what ever to each other.  He knows I'm a Realtor so that means he knows I'm right.  :)

Steve,

That is a pretty good expression and it's very true.

Steve, Creating your own future is what we all do day-to-day.  Sometimes, life throws a curve, but your attitude will create the circumstances to deal with it.

Brian, most people follow the crowd, and as you know.... most people are not where they want to be in life.  That can be changed if they have the desire to make it happen.

Don, I agree with you about " Creating your own future is what we all do day-to-day." But most people don;t go after their dreams and desires.  They go to work and thats it... as far as their effectiveness for reaching their goals/dreams go.

I am debt free and stress free. I predicted my future to be that way and my prediction was right...... THE ONLY WAY TO PREDICT THE FUTURE IS TO CREATE IT.

I don't care what happens in life.  We CAN predict the future IF we have the desire.

Steve -- Your friend 'takes what life gives him'?  Life throws a lot of curves. We have to get up, dust ourselves off, and move on.  Having direction and goals sure helps. Otherwise, you just flounder like your friend.

Barbara, I see him on Saturdays and he thinks I am lucky in life with my success.  I told him "Luck is hard work meeting oppourtunity and creating success out of it."
