Motivational Power Quote

Use The Right Tools

“You don’t use a hammer to tighten a screw.”

Susan Podziba, mediation expert

As I see it . . . . . . .

Use the right tools

As you wouldn’t use a hammer to tighten a screw, you have to select and use the right tools as a professional. Having the right tools in your tool bag gets you start using the right effectively makes all the difference.

To create the basis for a successful business relationship you have to reach into your tool bag and pull out and effectively apply the tools of your trade.

In developing a business relationship with your customers it’s important to show a sincere interest in them and to recognize their needs. When you’re interacting with your customers make them feel like they’re the most important person in the world.

To get onto a solid footing with your customers you will have establish the bar for communications based on their unique needs, perceptions and requirements.

In the new reality the customers set bar for their communications expectations.

As you develop your relationship with your customers they will come to a conclusion; on the level of trust that they have in you, if they like you and if you’re someone that they will do business with. If the answer is yes; they will form a business relationship with you based on being in rapport with you.

What I just described to you happens in the first encounter with a customer and it happen in mere seconds.

During that short time you have reached into your tool bag and showed sincere interest in the customer, you make them feel important, you get on to a solid footing with them and you understand their needs.  There were mutual expectations established and you have created trust and rapport with the customers.

To successfully create a relationship and business environment with your customers you have to have a tool bag reach into and use the right tools at the right time.

I have a pretty large collection of tools.  Knowing the right one to use, with each job, can be the challenge sometimes:-)

Actually, tapping the screw on a pair of scissors IS often the best way to tighten.  Ah, but again, it is the right tool for the job. Being able to analyze the situation and pull out the tool that will provide the best result, even if it appears unconventional to others is the mark of a true craftsman - regardless of their profession.

It is not about the size of your tool box. It is about your ability to use the tools contained therein! Enjoy your day!
