Mission Santa Inez, Solvang CA (Est. 1804)

By
Real Estate Agent with Chris Alston (Keller Williams Realty, Cupertino California) 01338415

Traveling to Southern California on Highway 101 towards Santa Barbara takes you to a cut off to a city called Solvang.  A Danish hamlet located a few miles off 101 before Santa Barbara, and what a treat do you have in store!

Don't plan on spending a few hours, consider a few days!

Mission Santa Ines

At the end of town is the old Mission Santa Ines that was founded on 1804.

Mission Santa Ines

It has endured through a long and varied history to still serve the community today.

Santa Ines

The Mission is open to the public, and has a museum and gift shop.

Santa Ines

You even have the ability to walk through the old graveyards.

Statue

If you plan on going, don't forget to bring your camera and a good pair of shoes to look at everything!

I cannot believe that I never realized that this mission was in Solvang.  I had totally missed it.  Finding this out, warrants another trip to Solvang.  Santa Inez is a gorgeous mission.

Chris

I've only been to Solvang once but we didn't have time for exploring the mission. I've been to several others but this now goes on the list. But I can at least enjoy it thoroughly through your post adn terrific photos.
