CARS THAT SHUT OFF AND START AGAIN HORSES and BICYCLES

These cars (BMW) will turn off when at a stop light and when the light turns green, start up again and off you go. Apparently it is a gas-saving technique. Now, I am going to admit that I have always heard that starting and stopping a car engine wastes gas and puts wear and tear on things...Now they say different

COMING SOON TO AMERICA

Not only that, but American cars will be introducing this in 2012 as a standard feature. I am not sure this is a good thing or a sales gimmick. I know they are always trying to come up with reasons why people should buy such and such a car. Is this a compelling enough reason?

PRICE OF GAS GOING UP 2012

The price of gas is going up again starting next year. How very convenient and nice of all the investors, and of corporate to allow us some slack during the holidays. Now, we can take the money we are saving and spend it on other things. Then, next year, they can get it back by squeezing the captive consumer dry

THE AMISH...THEY SIT BACK AND WATCH ALL THIS

The Amish have no worries here...They sit back and watch all this while their horse and carriages take them to and fro. The horse gets a rub-down, perhaps an apple and is allowed to roam after a hard days work. The car on the other hand gets garaged, needs cleaning, and doesn't care who drives it. The horse does...

HORSE-JACKING?

There are no horse jacking like there are car-jackings. In fact, horse stealing was at some point a hanging offense. Today, if you take someones auto, they call it GTA or grand theft auto. There is no GTH or grand theft horse nor does anyone want to steal one to begin with

HORSING AROUND

There is no market for horse parts either. Whereas you can strip down a car and in some cases the parts are worth more than the car itself. If you do not want to entertain horses, there is always the tried, true, and trusty Bicycle. In my city and the surround areas, there is a big push for bike lanes.

I would love to see that come back no problem

Not sure I am ready for the horse and buggy days.  While it sounds interesting it certainly doesn't allow for timely wide area travel.  Might put a crimp in our real estate business.......

Richie,

Any mechanical component has a finite life span, which is shortened by constant turning on and off. As far as the horse parts, if I'm not mistaken there is some French cuisine, as well as dog food to complete the cycle.

Jeanne and Ralph.....agreed on not being an effective caravaning tool.... in the city that is...They keep raising the price of everything and one starts to wonder and ponder

Jon...I do not know and perhaps you are right. Look for clarity on this when it is introduced next year first quarter....I wont be buying one

Richie to Rich...first part of your comment makes good sense...the second part of your comment makes good horse sense

And when you shovel out the stall, you can make your grass green at no extra cost. Don't know if I want to bring the horse in when it gets below zero.

David...green in your comment is the literal and probably the origin of the application. Amazing that horses (and other animals) have been going green for years.

Lisa....If we don't blow ourselves up or bankrupt ourselves...some very interesting leaps are in store

Fernando...I had a 1973 Camaro for years and had access to an SS too...The power tempted me constantly. Reconsider the horse...Gandalf and shadowfax, Zorro & Tornado, Lone Ranger & Silver, really bonded...Fernando & Camaro?..It doesn't sing amigo
