When In Doubt, Add More Butter

By

When I host a party or dinner, someone will pull me aside, and ask what the secret is, to the dish or dessert they may have enjoyed. I'm reminded of something a chef told me a long time ago- "When in doubt, just add more butter

Not margarine, not a spread, but pure, unadulterated butter. He was right. Although I try to eat healthy most of the time, every once in a while you have to live a little. When my wife asked me to taste her sweet potatoes below, and give her some advice, I told her, add even more butter. She did, and they came out spectacular. Well, the sugar and cinnamon didn't hurt either.

When in doubt, add more butter. Happy Thanksgiving all.

Scott - Great advice for all the worried cooks out there today. "When in doubt, add butter." My personal philosophy is that you can eat whatever you want, as long as you're reasonable. With butter, on Thanksgiving, forget reasonable...

Scott - I am so with you on this one! While I generally eat very healthy like you, butter is one of my favorite foods (Is it actually a food? - lol) and goes on and with anything and everything! Right now I'm thinking of warm crusty french bread dripping with butter! Or a baked potato with a quarter stick of butter on top...I could go on, but you get the point. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving my friend!

Scott, seems you even found a way to add butter to your library of blog posts.  Very clever.  Happy Thanksgiving.

I second that Scott.  Butter and heavy whipping cream.  You just can't go wrong.

Scott...my partner did a different sweet potato dish for T-day. It was quite tasty. But later he confessed...HE FORGOT THE BUTTER! Ahhhhh!

I rarely use real butter, but when I go home to visit Mom, she has nothing BUT real butter.

Happy Thanksgiving and hope its a great holiday season for you and your family!

Oh yeah...I made stroganoff last night, and by the time all the meat, then the onions, then the mushrooms, were sauteed, a stick of butter was missing. Add a cup of sour cream, and .... ;)
