If your home inspector was a HDTV -Wenatchee and Chelan Home Inspection

What should you expect from a home inspection? This is a huge question because most people do not buy homes frequently enough to know what to expect.

The home inspection industry in Washington State has changed quite a bit in recent years.

The State of Washington passed a home inspector licensing law in June 2008 requiring that all home inspectors be licensed. These licensing requirements were instituted to protect the consumer. Unfortunately licensing can only do so much. There will always be those that carry the license but really are not protecting the consumer.

If you looked for a home inspector as if it was an HDTV you would most likely find one of the better inspectors.

So now for…

If your Home Inspector was an HDTV”.

Shop for a home inspector as you would for a HDTV, do your due diligence.

Cost is always important but anyone who has seen a budget HDTV next to a quality one can tell you they can see the difference. This is the same for home inspectors.

Like an HDTV you would not look at just one inspector but you look at several to have a comparison.

Like a HDTV you would find a home inspector that will present the greatest detail, and yes even those little blemishes you can only see in HDTV should be on your list.

Like a HDTV you want a home inspector who is up on the newest and highest standards, who is keeping current in their trade.

Like a HDTV you want a home inspector with the best service available, who stands up for their product.

Like an HDTV you want a home inspector with the widest aspect ratio.

LIke a HDTV you want a home inspector that provide the best documentation.

So when you are looking for a home inspection service you want one who will provide the clearest picture available.

You are about to make a large investment and a home inspector who is looking out for your best interest should be your top priority. Providing the details you need to make an informed decision.

MOst inspectors are old fashioned TV's marketing to consumers that want HD.  Once agents see a good HD report---they wonder how they ever watched old fashioned TV.

Interestingly I still see old TVs out there, with old TV reports and techniques.  And they got chosen out of a group of competitors!  You be fine to be HDTV!  I got great clarity from your metaphor!

Charlie, Many know more about purchasing a TV than they do about all what goes into purchasing a home. And those who are still in the 4:3 ratio are missing all that is present in a 16:9 world.

Jay, You are right but they will slowly fade into the sunset (I hope ;). Those out there who are working hard to advance the industry should slowly rise to the top.

Well put Don, Unfortunately some Agents (I won't mention any names) prefer black and white home inspections because HD is more expensive, takes longer because its more through and may take more effort on their part.

The problem in my area is most everyone wants HDTV, but at at 4:3 ratio price. Checklist and spartan reports abound with clients unhappy with the product, but unwilling to pay for the upgrade.
