Improve Your SEO with a Google Plus Business Page

Real Estate Assistant with BEST AGENT BUSINESS

Have you upped your Google presence with a Google Plus business page yet? I’ll be honest, we haven’t created ours yet either, but it’s on our to-do list. We have helped a few of our clients in that area though, and it’s a wide-open new area of social marketing that you should really think about. Here are some things you need to know.

You are gonna have to have a Google Plus account for yourself first of all. If you currently have a Gmail or YouTube account then use that to set up your G+ profile. It’s a lot easier than having multiple accounts. The exception to that would be if you are going to have your virtual assistant or other associate work on it for you, then you might want to get one separate from your personal Gmail account.

You cannot create a profile account for a business name; it must be in a person’s name. As to whether that person is real or not, well, I guess what Google doesn’t know doesn’t hurt them.

Once your personal profile is set up, you should set up your business page. You can only have one admin at this time, but Google promises they will allow you to add more at some point in the future. So choose wisely whose account your office page gets set up with.

To set up your Google Plus business page, visit plus.google.com/pages/create.

Now, this is where the “Google juice” magic happens. You will be highly encouraged to connect your website or blog to your Google Plus page. In the steps you will be prompted to do this, and it will give you some code to use to associate the two. If you have a webmaster and are unsure how to add code to your site, you should send this code to them. Copy and paste it into a Notepad document so that the code isn’t corrupted through your communication.

Now get all the people in your office to +1 your page and follow you on Google Plus. Then you can start networking through them in order to get exposure. You can’t connect with anyone through your business page unless they first add you to a group. This makes it vital to have an active personal profile as well, or at least to have someone in your office who does and who is willing to suggest your page to their network.

Wondering why you should bother with a Google Plus page? Well, its Google after all, and nothing is more important to your website’s online presence than your SEO. This is SEO created by Google…the number one search engine…so it’s probably a good idea to roll with their ideas.

Want some help getting set up with and managing your Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter and other Social Media accounts? Best Agent Business has virtual assistants who specialize in social media management. Between us, we can get you all the Google juice you’ve ever wanted!

I will need help with the adding code to my website. That is exactly the point that I got stuck when setting up our Google+ website. There is a local guy I can ask I just hadn't spent the time yet. Your post is making me believe that I should.
