Motivational Power Quote

The Grass is Greener When it’s Fertilize

“Very often a change of self is needed more

then a change of scenery.”

Arthur Christopher Benson, British author

As I see it . . . . . . .

The green is greener when it’s fertilize

In a recent interview a candidate asked a question about the company. He wanted to know if the people working there where happy with the company.

Before I answered the question, I asked him was he happy with the company that he was currently working with and he quickly responded no.

I asked him to share with me the reasons that he felt unhappy in his current environment.

He answered that the broker did not help him; he didn’t think the brokers marketing wasn’t effective, he was not getting good lead and he wasn’t making any money among other things.

I had to ask him why he wasn’t making money and he responded with all the reasons the broker was at fault for his dilemma.

I responded by asking him what was the last professional development book that he read and he just looked at me with a glazed look in his eyes. I followed that question up by asking him if he had taken advantage of any of the education programs that the local Realtors® Association offered.  He said no that he was too busy.

I also him three additional question, if he was actively prospecting and he told me no, I asked him if had a farm area, again he say no. then I asked him if he was using social media and he told me that it doesn’t work.

I concluded to interview by saying that the company may not be a good fit for him and he should investigate several local companies.

There are times when the best course of action can be change. But in this case it’s wasn’t he was looking for greener pastures with a new company because he felt that the grass was not green at his current company.

The grass wasn’t green because of the broker or the company. He took no actions to make him environment better, he refused to fertilize his grass and it was dying from neglect.

We have to take personal reasonability to keep our grass green.

The green is greener when we fertilize it.

Lou,  love this quote....many folks think it is always greener on the other side, but if they cultivate and work at what they have, they will see success too!

As an owner of a company, I see this all the time, but in the right direction. The average person has been with my company fourteen and a half years.

Can relate to the type of interview you described. Change of self may preclude a change of scenary. Great one!
