Want to be inspired? Look no further than Brittany Mossor, a Utah teen making a positive difference!

After tWant to be inspired? Look no further than Brittany Mossor, a Utah teen making a positive difference!he doctor at Primary Children's Hospital found a dibilitating tumor on the L-4 vertebrae of her spine, Brittany Mossor, a very active 17 year-old, had major surgery to remove it on December 8th, 2010, as well as the disc itself. And inserted in its place, a wire cage and metal rods connecting the L-3 to the L-5 vertebrae. The recovery time took 3 months away from school, in bed with an extensive hospital stay.

Her mom and dad, Julie and Gary gave her a Build-A-Bear to cheer her up, dressed in a cheerleader uniform as Brittany is a cheerleader for Tooele High School in Tooele, Utah.

Prior to surgery and during her stay at the hospital, she saw a lot of children that were seriously sick or critically ill with cancer and was inspired to do something to cheer them up during Christmas. She started Britt's Bears and began to raise money for 10-15 bears and little did she know that when she was done, that she would deliver 100 bears to Primary Children's Hospital!

Wow! What an effort this Utah teen has put forth to bring joy to the lives of children who are going through some trying times, both physically and emotionally. Each child will receive a Build-A-Bear and a $5 gift certificate to dress it in an outfit that represents their personality! She also delivered 5 much needed blankets.

Brittany Mossor has indeed inspired many around her with her selfless act and BIG HEART!
She plans to do this again next year and hopes to help to spread cheer to many, many more children! Her family is so proud of her and we're glad to call her our niece, way to go Britt!
..............................................................
Did you know? Primary Children's Hospital goes through 5,000 blankets per year due to hot temperatures when washing they do not last long.

Wanda, with so much "bad news" proliferating regarding our youth, this is the type of story that should be told.

Kathy, It was tough on her physically and she wanted to do something to comfort the children in the hospital for Christmas! What a BIG HEART!

Al & Peggy, She is 75% healed and a ways to go. The cyst could come back...hope not! Most teens are all about themselves, not this one!

Chris, I hope this is something that will inspire other young people to do something positive for their community or for others!

Tom, I completely agree! She is a sweet young woman!

It is amazing how little things like a bear can make a huge impact on someone's heath and determination, Wanda. These stories are one in a million, because people like Brittany are one in a million. I like that she reminded these children not that they were sick, but that they are in fact children and are allowed to have some fun. Simply beautiful!
