Harlem Globetrotters Visit Cincinnati's US Bank Arena December 30 2011

Hearing that the Harlem Globetrotters are coming to town brings back some childhood memories, and some names: Meadowlark Lemon, Curly Neal and more.  Buckets of water/confetti, hidden balls, and some of the most entertaining basketball out there!  And the Washington Generals, there to play straight man!

Well the names have changed, but the family friendly entertainment hasn't!  These players all have SERIOUS hoops skills!  Did you know they're now in their 85th year after starting as the Savoy Big Five in 1926?  Now over 20,000 games later, they're still going strong!  Play a little Sweet Georgia Brown and there's only one thing that comes to mind:  The Harlem Globetrotters!

The current cast of players ranges from 7' 8" to 5' 2"!  You read that right!  They have the worlds tallest professional basketball player!  You'll get dunks, dribbling, tricks of all kind, we're sure you'll be entertained!

So when can you see them?  December 30th there will be two performances, one at 2 p.m. and the other at 7 p.m.  Downtown Cincinnati at the U.S. Bank Arena (right next to the Great American Ballpark).   Ticket prices range from $24 to $115 each.  Click Purchase Harlem Globetrotters Tickets to go to the U.S. Bank Arena website for more information and to purchase!

We hope you enjoy the show!  Here's a little sample of the performance:

Good morning.  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Liz and Bill.

I LOVE the Harlem Globetrotters - they sure do bring a smile to everyone's face - young and old.  So, here's a piece of trivia for you.  What professional basketball team has the record of losing the most games?

Why, the Washington Generals, of course.  The professional team which accompanies the Globetrotters and put up with their antics, LOL.

Wow, it was a million (well not quite) that my parents took my brother and I to see them.  I bet it was in the 70s.  I'll have to check out their schedule.

Michael, I enjoyed the show too!  It's been many decades, but it's still in the memory bank :)

Juli, I think they actually let the Generals win some of the games now :)

Ginny, Any kid would enjoy the show, whether they like basketball or not :)

Tammy, That's about the same time I saw them!

Joanna, Had to be tough for them back then, but glad they were able to help break down the barriers.

BLiz...I'm not much of a sports fan but this is one team I do like.  The arena should be packed for their show.

Anita, This is certainly one of those events that transcends sports.  It's sports for pure entertainment sake and quite fun!

Jennifer, I still remember fondly going as a kid :)
