The purpose of business is to fund a perfect life.

The purpose of business is to fund a perfect life.

The purpose of business is to fund a perfect life.

This is one of the affirmations of the Keller Williams BOLD training that most of my team went through this Fall.

Kim Beuhler, from Florida, has this to say about that affirmation:

“Let's remember WHY you go to work every day...to provide for the life you choose for yourself and your family.  And would you CHOOSE  to live a life of ordinary?  Certainly not!  So work with purpose and intention! Work with the knowledge that something great and grand, as you see it, is meant for you.

We all have the power to create, develop, and manifest our perfect life...and it involves more than just going through the motions to survive and "make a living."   Your mind may not acknowledge it yet, but the heart of each person knows that life is boundless, limitless.

So, if you haven't already done so; undo that mindset of limitation and work toward your perfect life...it's out there!  Go get it!”

Well said Kim! Thanks for writing it, and for giving me permission to pass it on.

All the best in 2012!

Let's hope that we get a little help in our affirmations this year from the economy.

Absolutely!   We work to live, not the other way around.   The real meaning of life is just that, life.  Business plans should help us enjoy it even more.

Thanks for the post!

Phil, I know I work too much, but I'm trying to build my business so that I can then slow down and maintain the perfect balance of life and work. Right now, it's all about working and building.

Phil, I love what I do.  I don't consider this a job, but a calling and a profession.  I'm funding and trying to live my life like it's golden.    Thanks for the post.    Happy New Years!

The purpose of business is to fund the perfect WIFE - said the agent I sat next to in our BOLD class. And I think he's sorta right. Have a perfect wife is a good start to the perfect LIFE.

Your comments made me realize how many great people go into real estate as a profession. Such passion! Such purpose! Congrats to you all.

What is the perfect life, asks John? It is the life you want to live.

Thanks for your comments

I'd like to paraphrase Confucius who said something like "find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life." How incredibly true. Thanks to my friend Maria Racelis for reminding me of this quote.

This idea is not a new one. If you read the book "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace Wattles, which was written in 1910, you will see the same message. To quote that book, "The desire for riches is really the desire for aricher, fuller, more abundant life". There are other books as well, but this one comes to mind.

I would only add that it should be about more than what it does for you and your family. You should be creating value for the broader community as well.
