Lake Sinclair fishing tournaments 2012

When a tournament is close all us locals can tell.  Little River Park fills up with trucks and trailers.  And tournament season is about to start.

The first one is just a little more than a week away on January 7th

Followed by the March 17th

And April 28th

That's just Berry's Fish Trails. Click on that link for registration and details.

A full schedule of the tournaments

Now personally I'm not much on fishing.  I just like to putz and peddle around the lake on my peddle boat mostly.  Occassionally a pontoon stroll is nice too.  I can take a book and the dogs and enjoy the day out on the lake when the weather is nice.  But for you folks that like fishing... I know someone who can help you find some good fishing spots.

And I'd like to point out that the GA EPD report on Lake Sinclair has no restrictions on how often you can eat the fish from Lake Sinclair.  And don't forget that fishing license.

And if you'd like to own a home so you can practice fish in between tournaments and store you boat in a boathouse and stay out of the hustle and bustle of bringing your trailer and launching your boat everytime... well I can help with that.

http://www.lake-sinclair.com/ can help you find jus the right home from our Lake Sinclair MLS.

I guess if it is in GA we aren't talking about ice fishing in the winter?

I'm with you Tammy, not much on fishing but love being on the water. This sounds like a huge event for those like our son that would be on the lake fishing every chance he has. Not a bad prize for a day of Fishing either!

Some of the prizes are out this world.  But I'll take a good book in a boat over a fishing pole any day

Tammy,

Fishing would be fun!  We had 60 degrees today, tomorrow 60, then it drops like a rock!

Happy New Year,

Ann Hayden in Wildwood, MO

Sounds like a wonderful time for anyone enjoying fishing, Tammy - lots of tournaments this winter and spring.  My brother and dad would LOVE Lake Sinclair!

Same here Ann... nice weather to bring in the new year then a blast of winter... but I think it will be short.  I can take short spells of 20s at night.

Karen- it is a beautiful lake with over 400 miles of shoreline and 15,000 acres... a really nice fishing lake.

Hi Tammy, I did not know you could practice fish. Is that where you throw them back in? Just kidding...... Happy 2012!

Sandy- actually yes... it is.  Many people catch what they consider prize fish days before the tournament and hope they will get that fish again on tournament day.

I'm betting we're not gonna find any marlin or ono or mahi-mahi swimming around in Lake Sinclair, am I right? But that shouldn't stop anybody from mounting a big ol' fiberglass custom fish on their wall now, should it?

Elizabeth- nope, just large mouth bass, crappie and catfish.  But I much prefer fiberglass and ceramic mounted fish anyway.  And you can get some great Mahi-Mahi down at Jackson's which is a nice lakeside restaurant.

Tammy, I love being on the water.. sometimes to fish and sometimes, like you, just to read a book also.
