Trust is just four steps away.

Someone once said, "I would rather be occasionally fooled than perpetually suspicious." That was a life altering quote for me and I started applying it to my life from the moment I read it. Of course it takes practice and I would frequently catch myself falling back into the trap of my own imagination until I read the book, The Four Agreements. If you have never read The Four Agreements I'll list them for you now. 1. Be impeccable with your word. 2. Never assume anything. 3. Never take anything personally. 4. Always do your best.

So many times I have caught myself repeating something negative for no reason or assuming someone else's motives only to find that whether I was "right" or wrong it impacted my thought process negatively. Sometimes to the point of closing doors. Plus, I wasn't as much fun to be around. Drama, Drama, Drama and totally distracted. Furthermore, anytime someone critisized me it never "stuck" when I had done my best, however, I've been ashamed of the times I hadn't and failed.

What's all this got to do with Trust? Simple, for me trust comes from within. I trust that the majority of people are trustworthy. I trust that I'm no good at assuming who is and who isn't trustworthy. I trust that if I do what I say and say what I do then I can trust my own word. I trust in the law of reciprocity. I trust that receiving negative energy is worst than not receiving positive energy. I trust that whether I think I can or whether I think I can't, I'm right. I trust that I am not above God's influence. I trust that no one is always right, even me. I trust taking accountability gives me the power of choice. More than anything I trust that doing the wrong thing will get me what I don't want.

And so on... trust comes from within and is given freely when coupled with faith.

Hi Lauren!

There's a saying I heard once that went, "I'de rather be occasionally fooled than perpitually suspicious." But I guess the real point to my blog was to pitch the 4 agreements, their is fun!

Thanks for responding!
